Schwarzman Scholars

Purpose To give outstanding students the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and professional networks, while achieving significant exposure to China, through a one- year graduate program at in Beijing.

Award

Tenable Students will live and study together at within Tsinghua, a new facility constructed for the program. All classes will be taught in English. Students will earn a Masters in Global Affairs, specializing among three different tracks:

1) Public Policy 2) Economics and Business 3) International Studies

Can individualize focus within the three options. All scholars also complete a core curriculum (see website for specifics).

Number & Amount Up to 200 students. Funding is comprehensive and generous. Includes a living stipend and travel expenses.

Duration One full year.

Eligibility

Who Between 18 and 28 (on June 30 of the next year). No citizenship restrictions. English proficiency required. 20% of scholars from China, Hong Kong, and . 40% U.S. 40% all other countries.

When Must successfully complete undergraduate degree prior to enrollment.

Selection Criteria High academic aptitude and intellectual ability. Leadership potential and entrepreneurial spirit. Ability to anticipate paradigm changes. Exemplary character, and desire to understand other cultures and perspectives.

Deadline Spring for students from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. September for other applicants.
