Topic 1 With Jesus in temptation Consecration Meeting Bible Readings Matthew 4: I -11 Hebrews 4:15-16

Introduction Today’s topic is about Temptation. Think about what that is for a minute. It is not a sin to be tempted, but it is a sin to give in to it. Temptation is really a test, and our character gets stronger each time we say ‘No’ to something we know is wrong. Today we hear how Jesus was tempted, so He knows what it is like, and how to help us to win against temptation, as Jesus did.

Topic 4 Introduction How can I help people I don’t like? Jesus tells us what to do about people who (or people who don’t like me?) don’t like us. Let us look at the verses one by one to see what He says. It is really Bible Reading very different from what we generally Matthew 5:43-48 think and much more difficult to carry out. Prayer is the most important part of it all. Memory Verse Sometimes that (prayer) is all we can Matthew 5:44 do when someone doesn’t like us, or we “But now I tell you, love your enemies and pray don’t like somebody. 25 Unit 5 Light for a dark world

Topic 1 Introduction Casting our fear Children, what do you think of when you hear the word ‘Fear’? Could it be the dark, or death, or Consecration Meeting maybe something else? There are many times that adults and young people are fearful. Even the Bible Reading disciples of Jesus were afraid when they were in the 1 John 4:7, 11-19 boat with Him! Memory Verse for Month Did you realize that there are people who are terribly Psalm 27:1(a) afraid of many things? These are people who don’t know anything about the Lord Jesus; or people who “The Lord is my light and my leave God out of their lives; and people of other salvation, whom shall I fear?” religions who are never quite sure whether they will get to Heaven or not. You can trust the TRUE and LIVING God. God says in the Bible in Isaiah 26:4 ‘Trust in the Lord God always, for in the Lord Jehovah is your everlasting strength. The Bible also says ‘Perfect love casts out all fear.’ The Lord Jesus is God’s love in person, so if we have Him in our lives we need never be afraid. Colossians 1:9-17 Today you are going to look at an agency that helps such people in over 80 countries of the world. The Bible tells us that we should be hungry for God’s Word. Topic 4 Introduction Speaking the good news You know, God wants everyone to know Him and live happily. To know Him and to please Him is to be happy. He has shown us the Bible Reading way to do this in the Bible. Romans 16:25-27 It is very hard for many people to know God and how to please Him because they haven’t got a Bible to read in a language they understand. About 70 years ago, Mr. Cameron Townsend started Wycliffe Bible Translators to train people to change the Bible into another language and help them to do it. Mr.Townsend did this because He wanted to please God, and he wanted other people to know God and be happy by pleasing Him, too. Changing the Bible into another language takes a long time and a lot of patience. But it is the best way to help people to know God.

Topic 4 Introduction 39 + 27 = I book The Bible is a Book of many parts – as well as true stories it has poetry, songs, prophecies, but the most (For Bible Society Week) important is the story of Jesus’ birth, life, death and resurrection. It is the oldest Book in the world, written Bible Reading by many authors, who were all guided by God. God Psalm 119:97-106 and had a plan for His Book, so although it was written Matthew 24:35 at different times by many different people, it all fits together perfectly.
