Photo: Bjarke Ingels Group Star architect Bjarke Ingels is looking for a new office space in Dumbo for his fast-growing architecture firm, according to a source familiar with the talks. The firm, which has designed several prominent projects recently in the city, is eyeing a 52,000-square-foot space at 45 Main St., an office building owned by the large Dumbo landlord Two Trees. Bjarke Ingels Group would take the building's entire ninth floor in a deal, the source said, although several people with knowledge of the talks said the lease was in preliminary stages and may not get done. The 42-year Danish architect is said to be interested in relocating his firm to Dumbo in order to have his office closer to home. In 2015, Ingels purchased a nearly $4 million penthouse condo at 205 Water Street, a short walk under the Manhattan Bridge from 45 Main Street. article continues below advertisement In 2014, the firm moved from a small office at the Starrett Lehigh Building to about 22,000 square feet at 61 Broadway in lower Manhattan. According to a report m at that time, the firm needed the extra space to accommodate its roughly 100 employees. A spokeswoman for the company told Crain's it now has over 200 employees in the city, suggesting it has outgrown its space at 61 Broadway. The spokeswoman would not comment on whether the firm was considering the move to Dumbo or looking for a larger office.
