Welcome to Romeoville High School, home of the Spartans! On behalf of the staff of Romeoville High School, I would like to extend a warm wel- come to all parents and students. We have many great things in store for your student as he or she begins/continues his or her high school career. Our goal for our students is that they reach their full potential and leave Romeoville High School career/college ready. Our teachers are student-centered, caring instructors who make the school an enjoyable place for students to learn and grow. The staff sets high expectations for all students and provides dynamic lessons to help them reach their full potential. These compassionate professionals will work collaboratively to provide a productive, positive learning environ- ment that is based in a belief that all students can learn and succeed when presented with a safe and student friendly learning environment. Our level of success will be determined by the partnership of all of us-parents, teachers/ coaches, and students-working together as a team. Our top priorities are safety and aca- demic success for your child. We will keep you informed throughout the year. Addition- ally, you may log in to your child’s account so that you can view grades and assignments for your student at any time. We truly believe that an involved parent/guardian is one of the most important aspects of the school year. Please come in and get involved! As each student begins/continues his/her years in high school, we know that it can be challenging. Therefore, we hope to work with you to help ease this journey. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the school. Throughout the learning process we believe that it is our job to prepare our students for success (college or career ready) by the time they graduate from Romeoville High School. We will be successful as long as we keep the belief that all students can learn at college or career readiness levels, when presented with dynamic differentiated engaging instruction, coupled with a valid and reliable assessment system that provides student friendly appropriate, descriptive feedback in a timely fashion. Articles will be held for a period of 10 school days. At the end of that time textbooks will be returned to departments and other articles will be disposed of or donated to charity. Students should not bring any valuables to school, such as excess cash, expensive cloth- ing, jewelry, or equipment, etc. Electronic Devices Students are allowed to use their electronic devices during the following times: • Before school- until 7:30 a.m. • During passing periods • During their scheduled lunch period (cafeteria) • After school beginning at 2:00 p.m. • Students are not allowed to use their cell phones in class without their teacher’s per- mission, failure to do so can be considered insubordination. • Cell phones are not to be used in the locker rooms or washrooms. Police Liaison Officer Romeoville High School retains a Police Liaison Officer whose regular duties involve working on campus under an agreement of employment via a contract between the law enforcement agency and the district. The goal of the Liaison Officer is the prevention of juvenile delinquency and improved
