8 37 , BRADFIELD & DISTRICT WWI HERITAGE PROJECT We have also now got four large files of people from the Parish who were casualties of the war and these are available to be viewed in the Archives at Bradfield. We have now completed researching information on the survivors from the Parish, these are contained in six large files and are available to be viewed in the Archives at Bradfield. The Poppy Memorial Trail book is now available to purchase from local outlets at £10-00 per copy and all profits will be split between Stannington British Legion, Help for Heroes and Bradfield St. Nicholas Church. Earlier this year we produced two books relating to WWI, one is in relation to the effects of the war in the area whilst the second one relates to a number individuals who fought in the conflict - as we received funding from Heritage Lottery Funding to produce they are available ―free of charge‖ from local outlets.

It's been very busy at the tennis club over the summer months with lots of play as the weather was favourable. The club held a tournament in memory of Katrine Simcox on 10 September, the event was well attended We fielded many teams over the summer months, mixed, men's and ladies teams plus 2 juniors. Chris Robinson continues to encourage the men in the singles ladder. Nathan Rutherford won the men's singles event. Play continues throughout the winter, fingers crossed for a mild winter.
