The Flyline 4 November/ December 2010 The 2011 Raffle Rod Outfit is Something Special!!!

his year’s outfit is centered on a 7’10” 4-weight Sage TXL-F rod (plus case), a dra- Tmatically improved version of the much loved TXL. The new TXL-F is a full 33% lighter than its nearly weightless predecessor, bringing a whole new meaning to the term “ultra-light.” Simply put, this 4-piece TXL-F rod will seem to literally float in your hand. Sage has incorporated the latest version of their exclusive G5 Technology, innovative new micro- ferrules and an ergonomic, snub-nose, half-wells grip for greater comfort and control. Whether your fishing cascading freestones or meandering spring creeks, beaver ponds or farm ponds, the TXL-F brings a new level of enjoyment to smaller waters everywhere.

We’ve matched this rod with an incredible Ross CLA 1 fly reel a new standard for affordable, hybrid large arbor fly reels. This series incorporates a superior drag mechanism that is extraordinarily smooth, heat resistant and provides incredible stopping power.

The line we’ve chosen for the outfit is the innova- tive Sharkskin GPX from . It’s the ultimate do it all fly line for general fly fishing. This weight-forward tapered line is one-half size heavy to help load fast-action rods. And is an incredible fly line; it zips through the rod and really punches into the wind. Of course we’re including several tapered leaders and an assortment of tippet spools.

Finally, we are including a full box of 36 flies hand- tied by Central Iowa Fly Fishing expert tiers. The total retail value of this year’s rod raffle outfit is $1026!!!
