Peter Budge (01243 780121 or [email protected]) has represented the North Ward for both the City and District Councils for the last four years. North Ward includes the hospital, the university, the theatre and the football and rugby clubs. All needed help when planning, social and other issues arose which he and his colleagues helped to a satisfactory conclusion. East Broyle has been Peter’s home for nearly 40 years and his children received their schooling here. His involvement in the community has included membership of the Rugby Club which he chaired for 3 years. Peter says “Helping local residents in many ways, especially planning issues, has been personally satisfying for me. With the Local Plan we have managed to make some important changes for the good of North Ward, including keeping the fields north of the B2178 free from development and preserved as open space.” Tony Dignum (01243 538585 or [email protected]) has lived in Chichester for 15 years. A qualified accountant, he is the councillor responsible for the finances of the District Council, ensuring your council tax is spent wisely. He was a senior director of leading retailers, including Dixons, H. Samuel and Selfridges. For 9 years he was Chairman of the Chichester Society, dedicated to preserving the city’s heritage. He played a leading part in the successful campaigns to stop gravel extraction west of Summersdale, and to stop housebuilding on the Daffodil Field just north of

the city. His wife Pamela, a District Councillor for since 2007, is an active volunteer in the Cathedral. With two daughters and six grandchildren, his leisure interests include history, cycling, walking and gardening. He has enjoyed helping local residents who have sought his advice. Simon Lloyd-Williams (01243 792159 or [email protected]) has been a councillor for North Ward for 4 years. He works in Data Centre management with IBM. He is married with two sons and has lived on the East Broyle estate since 2002. Both his sons attended primary and secondary state schools in Chichester. Simon has been involved in various voluntary capacities, including serving with the Territorial Army, chairing a parish council and elected membership of the National Trust for Scotland (NTS) Council. He is a member of the East Broyle Residents’ Association and the Friends of Chichester Cathedral. Simon's interests include history, information technology and conservation along with cycling and walking. Elections for the City Council using a green ballot paper are also being held on May 7th.
