The Tournament was conducted on League cum Knock out basis. . The following Universities have been qualified for Knock out Matches: University of Mysore, University of Mumbai, GNDU. Amritsar, Mangalore University, University of Pune, Calicut University, Kerala University and Shivaji University. Calicut University defeated Mysore University; University of Mumbai defeated Shivaji University, University of Pune defeated GNDU, Amritsar and in the last quarter final matches, Mangalore University defeated Kerala University. In the semi finals, Mangalore University defeated University of Pune by 1 point and one innings. Calicut University defeated University of Mumbai by 4 points

10. General Information on the tournament:

The South Zone Inter-University Kho-Kho(Women) Tournament was inaugurated by Sri K. Abhayachandra Jain, Hon’ble Minister for Sports, Youth Service and Fisheries, Government of Karnataka, on 23rd November, 2013. Prof. T.C. Shivashankara Murthy, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Mangalore University, was presided. Shri K. Jayaprakash hedge, Member of Parliament, - Chickmagalur Constituency, was the Chief Guest, Shri Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA, Udupi, Shri Aroor Narayana Shetty, Tax Consultant, Bangalore, Mrs. Shobha Narayan, Arjuna Awardee, Bangalore, Mr. Bharath Kumar Shetty, President, Brahmavar Sports Club ®., were the Guests of Honour.

Prof. P.S. Yadapadithaya, Registrar, Mangalore University, was presided over the Valedictory Function on 26th November, 2013. Dr. M. Mohan Alva, Chairman, Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri was the Chief Guest, Sri Prakash Tolar, Psychiatrist, Sri Matha Hospital, Kundapur, Mr. Joseph Suaris, General Secretary, OSCE Society, Brahmavr, were the Guests of Honour.

The All India Inter-University Kho-Kho (Women) Tournament was inaugurated by Sri U.T. Khader, Hon’ble Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, on 3rd January 2014. Prof. T.C. Shivashankara Murthy, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Mangalore University, was presided. Prof. P.S. Yadapadithaya, Registrar, Mangalore University, was presided over the Prize Distribution Ceremony including Valedictory Function on 6th Januay, 2014. Prof. Mustiary Begum, Department of Business Administration, was the Chief Guest and distributed the Prizes. Dr. C. Krishna, Director of Physical Education, Mysore University and also AIU Observer Mr. Sathya Kumar, Technical Officer of SAI, were grace the occasion.
