THE HERTFORDSHIRE (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS AND FOOTPATH IN FURNEUX PELHAM, , ALLENS GREEN, AND BISHOPS STORTFORD) ORDER 2018

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) and footpath (“the Footpath”) will be:-

1. To prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of Roads, except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:- a) that length of C107 (unnamed road), Furneux Pelham from its junction with The Street south westwards to its junction with Gravesend, a distance of approximately 1227 metres.

An alternative route will be via The Street, and C15 (unnamed road). b) that length of B1004 (Tower Hill/High Street), Much Hadham from its junction with Ash Meadow north eastwards to its junction with Oudle Lane, a distance of approximately 500 metres.

An alternative route will be via B1004 (Tower Hill/Widford Road/Medcalf Hill/High Street/ Ware Road/Widbury Hill/Star Street), A1170 (High Street/ Street), B1001 Watton Road/ Road), A10 Wadesmill Bypass, A120 (Standon Hill/Kents Lane/Stortford Road/Standon Road/Stortford Road/Hadham Road), A1184 Bishops Park Way and B1004 (Great Hadham Road/Winding Hill/High Street). c) that length of Sacombs Ash Lane, Allens Green from its junction with Blounts Lane north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 606 metres.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works. d) that length of Greenstead, Sawbridgeworth from its junction with Vantorts Road north westwards, south westwards and south eastwards for its entire length.

However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works. e) that length of Vantorts Road, Sawbridgeworth from its junction with East Drive north eastwards to its junction with Fairway, a distance of approximately 500 metres.

An alternative route will be via East Drive, Brook Road, A1184 (Bonks Hill/London Road), Station Road, Knight Street and The Square.

2. To prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated between No.9b and No.11 Elm Road, Bishops Stortford from its junction with Elm Road south eastwards to its junction with Half Acres, a distance of approximately 160 metres.

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south side of Elm Road, the footway situated on the south side of Barrells Down Road, the footway situated on the west side of B1004 Northgate End, the footway situated on the north side of A1250 Hadham Road and the footway situated on the east side of Half Acres.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads and Footpath.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 April 2018 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads and Footpath.

A copy of the proposed Order may be inspected free of charge at County Hall, between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm (excluding weekends, bank and public holidays).
