The Covid-19 Pandemic has been a huge shock to our global society and one that is still influencing Government policy and public opinion around the world and will continue to for some time. As a Film & Television Production Company, the pandemic has had several probably long-lasting effects on us and our market. Firstly, the impact of global lockdowns on people not being able to go out for entertainment in the way they used to has created a huge surge in demand, for new film and television productions. This has increased exponentially, creating significant opportunities to satisfy this demand. Secondly, like all businesses that work with specialist staff providing skills to their business, we have had to incorporate new work patterns - working from home, social distancing etc into our daily routines. Thankfully, the latest software has enabled us to do this very well. Thirdly, for our filming on location, we have to add a layer of Covid-19 related planning and thinking into all our activities. We have found that by doing this we are able to continue to operate and work on our film and television productions in much the same way as before. If anything, due to demand being so high, perhaps the highest it has ever been, combined with the fact we are a unique independent production company that focuses on ‘big stories’ relating to the environment, social issues and world culture, our work is probably more relevant and better understood than it has ever been. Combine this with the award winning creative talents who are working on our film productions, such as Grammy Nominated Artist Anoushka Shankar, who has written original music for us, or Golden Globe Nominee Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey, Paddington) providing his superb narration voice in The Compassionate Film Series. This is definitely an exciting period of growth and expansion for us as a Production Company. There are lots of known faces we can name who are involved in this work of increasing our understanding and wonder of the natural world and what is happening on our planet. These include Gretta Thunberg’s Climate Strike Protests and Sir David Attenborough’s Blue Planet I & II. However, more needs to be done and that’s where we as a Production Company come in. We truly believe there is a huge need and a significant opportunity to add to this sector by making new films about interesting subjects that are produced in exciting ways. Our work involves working with some of the worlds leading experts in their fields to create new content that has a global relevance and contributes to a mainstream conversation about the environment as well as critical social and political issues that are important to our future. I feel like we are beginning to move into a new era of understanding about these topics and industries will need to respond to reflect this. Filmmaking is no exception. As a Production Company, we are known for operating in this field of sustainability and cultural / environmental reporting and we have an excellent track record for working in this way in different parts of the world. We hope you enjoy reading through our brochure and finding out what we’re all about through the social and environmental films we make. We very much look forward to welcoming some of you on board as investors in the special process of filmmaking that we are involved in. Yours Faithfully, Jean-Paul Mertinez, Director Compassionate Films January 2021, London THE COMPASSIONATE FILM SERIES 5 The films in this series can make a positive difference to the communities whose stories they tell and the audiences who will watch and receive them. 6 THE COMPASSIONATE FILM SERIES INTRODUCTION: THE COMPASSIONATE FILM SERIES A WORLD CLASS INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY In Two Major New Documentary Film Productions From A Unique British Film Company An Invitation to Participate elcome to the world we are.
