List of Connecticut Factories and Mechanical Establishments [1934/1935] STATE OF CONNECTICUT List of Conitecticut Factories and Mecltanical Establishments CORRECTED TO JUNE 30, 1935 COMPILED BY THE Factory Inspection Department 1934. 1935 connecticut State Library I\IIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIIIIIIIll\Ill\ 3 0231 01328 4232 STATE OF CONNECTICUT List of Connecticut Factories and Mechanical Establishments f CORRECTED TO JUNE 30, 1935 COMPILED BY THE Factory Inspection Department 1934. 1935 The Department will appreciate having its attention called to any necessary co r recti on s or additions. Address: Department of Factory Inspection, Room 259, State Office Building. Authorized by State Board of Finance and Control LIST OF CONNECTICUT FACTORIES FOR THE PERIOD 1934 · 1935 General E.xplanations The data for this Directory has been secured from the reports of the Depart ment of Factory Inspection for this period. The Department of Factory Inspection inspects every factory in the State each year. These records therefore cover all the factories in operation during this period. From these records were obtained for each factory the name, location, kind of work done or product manufactured and the number of men and women employed on the date of inspection. No specific figures for any individual firm are given in this Directory, but the employment figures reported by the inspectors furnish the basis for the code symbols used. Since the inspectionb were made on various dates throughout the year, the tabulations do not picture exact conditions at any specific date. They may be safely taken, however, as satisfactory averages for each town and for each industry for the period. The Directory covers primarily manufacturing establishments, that is, factories where raw m.aterials or semi-finished products are converted into finished products. It also gives a register of two important industries closely allied to manufacturing, namely, laundries and automobile service and repair. CONNECTICUT FACTORIES AND MECHAL~ICAL ESTABLISHMENTS ARRANGED IN COUNTIES BY TOWNS AND VILLAGES Numbers at right of name of town indicate males-females employed. Office employees not included.
