#224a Ownership – Broadcasting - CRTC 2020-08-19
UPDATE
CRTC 2018-404 – approved a change in ownership and effective control of Newfoundland Capital Corporation Limited, the parent corporation of Newcap Inc. and its licensed broadcasting subsidiaries, through the transfer of all of its issued and outstanding shares to Stingray Digital Group Inc. (10.7%) and its wholly owned subsidiary 10643432 Canada Inc. (89.3%).
Update – 2018-12-06 – on 1 December 2018, Stingray Digital Group Inc. changed its name to Stingray Group Inc.
Amalgamation – 2018-12-16 – of 10643432 Canada Inc., Newfoundland Capital Corporation Limited and Newcap Inc. to continue as Stingray Radio Inc.
CRTC 2019-237 – approved the conversion of CHCM Marystown from the AM to the FM band.
CRTC 2019-253 – approved the acquisition by Stingray Radio Inc. of the assets of the radio station CHOO-FM Drumheller from Golden West Broadcasting Ltd. (2019-0071-2) NOTE: the closing of the transaction occurred on 26 August 2019 and the transaction has been reflected.
CRTC 2019-430 – approved the application by Stingray Group Inc. for a broadcasting licence to operate the currently exempt, national, French-language discretionary service PalmarèsADISQ as a licensed discretionary service.
CRTC 2020-53 – approved the acquisition by Stingray Radio Inc. of the assets of the radio stations CIXL-FM Welland and CKYY-FM Welland from R.B. Communications Ltd. NOTE: The transaction will only be reflected upon confirmation of the closing date.
CRTC 2020-98 – approved a broadcasting licence to operate the currently exempt, national discretionary service Stingray Hits.
Update – 2020-07-15 – minor changes.
