Onek Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees TORORO DISTRICT HAZARD, RISK AND VULNERABILITY PROFILE i EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The multi-hazard vulnerability profile output from this assessment was a combination of spatial modeling using socio-ecological spatial layers (i.e. DEM, Slope, Aspect, Flow Accumulation, Land use, vegetation cover, hydrology, soil types and soil moisture content, population, socio-economic, health facilities, accessibility, and meteorological data) and information captured from District Key Informant interviews and sub-county FGDs using a participatory approach. -

A Sanitation Marketing March Strategy for 2010 Tororo District, Uganda The USAID Hygiene Improvement Project (HIP) is a six-year (2004-2010) project funded by the USAID Bureau for Global Health, Office of Health, Infectious Diseases and Nutrition, led by the Academy for Educational Development (contract # GHS-I-00-04-00024-00) in partnership with ARD Inc., the IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre in the Netherlands, and The Manoff Group. HIP aims to reduce diarrhoeal disease prevalence through the promotion of key hygiene improvement practices, such as hand washing with soap, safe disposal of faeces, and safe storage and treatment of drinking water at the household level. Of which one from the central government source the district realised 44.9% budget performance, from the local revenue source the district had 23% performance and from the donors 73% budget performance. Planned Revenues for 2016/17 The District expects to receive Shs 45.1 billion, locally raised revenue will constitute 6.5%, central government transfers 92.1% and donor funds 1.4%.
