Ipswich Knights FC FQPL FAQ’s

What is the FQPL? From 2018, PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland will expand from 12 to 14 teams and will be underpinned by the 14-team Premier League (FQPL). Seven regional centres are represented in the restructuring, which brings with it the added excitement of promotion and relegation as determined by the combined tally of Senior, Youth (U20s) and U18s points.

What teams make up the FQPL? There are 14 teams that make up the FQPL. They are Sunshine Coast Wanderers, Gold Coast Galaxy, Southside Eagles, Peninsula Power, Mitchelton FC, Wide Bay, Wolves FC, Souths United, Logan Lightning, Ipswich Knights, Rochedale Rovers, Gold Coast Athletic, Eastern Suburbs and Holland Park Hawks.

What ages will FQPL cover? Ipswich Knights will field teams for Junior Boys in the under 13, 14, 15 and 16 age groups in addition to under 18’s, 20's and Senior Men.

When and how can I trial to be selected for the FQPL squads? We are currently planning for all aspects of the 2018 FQPL season with trials expected to commence in October 2017.

Can I apply to become a coach? If you are interested in being involved as a coach, assistant coach or manager, we are seeking expressions of interest for the following teams: • Under 13 Boys • Under 14 Boys • Under 15 Boys • Under 16 Boys • Under 18 Boys • Under 20 Boys • Senior Men Expressions of interest to be emailed to [email protected] Please include your credentials and current licence accreditation in a detailed resume. We aim to name the coaching staff as soon as possible in preparation for 2018.

How will this affect Ipswich Knights in Football competitions? Will there still be Miniroos and divisional teams through to senior football? Yes, we will continue to be an inclusive club which caters for players of all ages and abilities whilst striving to provide the highest level of football possible for our members to participate in.

How much will the registration fees be? The club is working through the costs associated with the 2018 season.

Will miniroos and divisional registration cost be affected by the gaining of the QPL licence? NO. FQPL teams will have a separate fee structure that will support the requirements of the FQPL licence.

Will teams need to travel? The 14 teams that make up the FQPL range from Wide Bay to the north to the Gold Coast in the South. There are several teams located in the greater Brisbane region. Travel for away games should be contained to these areas.

How can I support? Support can be provided in many ways, from volunteering, through to sponsorship opportunities and donations. Most of all you can get on board and support the teams and when the season starts, come along and show your support. Please contact the club if you feel you have the capacity to help.
