Reservations Accepted | 10/1/2021 1 Welcome to Virginia’s First Urban Winery! What’s an Urban Winery, you ask? Well, we are. Take a look around, and you’ll see a pretty unique blend of concepts. First and foremost, you’ll see wine made here under our Mermaid label, highlighting the potential of Virginia’s grapes and wine production. Virginia has a rich history of grape growing and winemaking, and we’ve selected the best grapes we can get our hands on for our Mermaid Wines. We primarily work with fruit from our Charlottesville vineyard, with occasional sourcing from other locations if we see the opportunity to make something special. We’ve put together some really enjoyable wines for you to try – some classic, some fun, all delicious. Secondly, you’ll see wines from all around the world. Some you’ll recognize, others you might not. These selections lend to our wine bar-style atmosphere and really enrich the experience by offering a wide range of wines to be tried. They’re all available by the bottle, and most by the glass and flight as well, right alongside our Mermaid Wines. The staff can tell you all about any of them, so rest assured that you’ll never be drinking blind. These wines also rotate with the season, and there’s always something new to try. We have a full kitchen too, with a diverse menu that can carry you through lunch, brunch and dinner from the lightest snack to a full-on meal. With dishes that can be easily paired with a variety of our wines, make sure you try anything that catches your eye.

Amanda Olekszulin, Principal 455 Capitol Mall, Suite 210 Sacramento, CA 95814 916-930-3183 [email protected] September TBD, 2011 11010027.01 MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION Project: Concannon Vineyards Administration/Warehouse Building Lead Agency: Alameda County PROJECT DESCRIPTION This Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND), supported by the attached Initial Study (IS), evaluates the environmental effects of a proposed administration/warehouse building at the Concannon Vineyards complex in Alameda County, California. The applicant, The Wine Group, is proposing the construction of a new 50,615 square foot (sq. ft.) building on the northwest corner of the property. The buildings’ primary function would be to provide additional storage space for wine supplies and materials (e.g., dry bottles and boxes, packaged cases of wine), and administrative offices for existing employees. The building would provide a dedicated warehouse space to store equipment and supplies to support existing production operations. Alameda County is the lead agency for this project and has prepared this MND. FINDINGS An IS has been prepared to assess the projects potential effects on the environment and the significance of those effects. Based on the Initial Study, it has been determined that the proposed project would not have any significant effects on the environment once mitigation measures are implemented.

  • Winery of the Month
April 2020 WINERY OF THE MONTH ® RealReal Food. Food. Real Real People People..® OLIVER’S IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE SEBASTIANI VINEYARDS & WINERY AS THE WINERY OF THE MONTH FOR APRIL. Sebastiani’s first century in Sonoma winemaking began when Samuele Sebastiani emigrated from Italy in 1895 and started Sebastiani nine years later. A stonemason by trade, he quarry-mined the Sonoma hills for cobblestones that were used to build the streets of San Francisco. The winery was the only one in Sonoma County to continue operations through Prohibition, making a small amount of sacramental and medicinal wines. It has been joked, and perhaps with some grain of truth, that during this time there was a resurgence of people becoming very religious. Samuele believed in hard work and asked the same of everyone at the winery. At the same time, he was a strong supporter of the land and the people of Sonoma. When the combination of Prohibition and the Depression hit hard, Samuele initiated major projects at the winery to create employment for his neighbors. Shortly after Samuele’s death in 1944, his son, August, and August’s wife Sylvia purchased the winery from the estate and began the expansion of the facilities and the product line, adding new varietal wines and proprietary blends. August was recognized as one of America’s most skilled and innovative winemakers of the time. He respected the craftsmen of Sonoma and made use of their skills at the winery; the famous hand-carved Sebastiani barrels, which are still on display at the winery, were completed by Earle Brown in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
