Jesus reproves the disciples' ambitions yet 22:24-30 promises the Kingdom. Jesus washes the disciples' feet: love and 13:1-20 humility. Jesus indicates His betrayer who 26:21-25 14:18-21 22:21-23 13:21-35 does not leave until after the Lord's Supper. Jesus bears his own cross until Simon of 27:31-34 15:20-23 23:26-32 19:16, 17 Cyrene relieves Him. Crucified at Goltotha. Seven sayings on the 27:35-44 15:24-32 23:33-38 19:18-27 cross: 3 relating to others, 4 to Himself. "Father forgive them." The penitent thief is promised Paradise. 23:39-43 His garments are divided and and lots cast for them. He gives care of His mother to John. 19:23-27 Darkness falls over the land from the sixth to the ninth hour. Jesus' cry, "Eli, Eli...." 27:45-54 15:33-41 23:44-49 19:28-30 Scripture fulfilled when He says, "I thirst." Jesus dies: the veil of the temple is rent and the Centurion's testimony. His side is pierced and blood and water 27:57-61 15:42-47 23:50-56 19:31-42 flow to attest His death and the truth of Scripture. The body is taken down, wrapped in linen, aloe and myrrh then laid in the new tomb of Joseph of Arimathea.
