This one year, post-A level course allows you to firstly explore a range of art, design and media areas before selecting a specific subject and then preparing your portfolio for a specialist degree course at university, or launching your career in the creative industries. It is the equivalent of three A levels.

The course is divided into three stages: exploratory, pathway and confirmatory; historical and contextual studies are also integrated into the course.

Assessment takes place throughout the course; projects are graded and written feedback enables you to review the strengths of your work and to reflect upon areas for development. The course concludes with a summer exhibition, planned and mounted by the students.

Students completing this course in 2013 progressed to degree courses at specialist colleges and universities including Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London and Falmouth University. 21
