Perform annual department head and staff evaluations and guide peer review processes for faculty. Plan, develop and allocate College and departmental budgets. Facilitate program reviews, new program development and foster faculty professional development. ADMINISTRATION – Interim Dean, College of Business Direct AACSB accredited College activities of 23 full-time faculty, 20 adjunct faculty, associate dean and 6 staff that includes a Small Business and Technology Center, the Department of Accounting and the Department of Economics and Finance with over 900 declared student majors within the College. Implemented a developed M.B.A. program. Plan, develop and allocate College and departmental budgets. Facilitate program reviews, new program development and foster faculty professional development. ADMINISTRATION - Department Head of Physical Sciences Department Head with 14 tenure-track faculty, three visiting faculty, three adjunct faculty and one staff. Oversee all programs in Geology, Chemistry and Physics and several pre-professional programs (pre-medical, pre-pharmacy, pre-dental). Perform all annual faculty and staff evaluations and guide departmental peer review process. Plan and develop departmental budgetary needs. Administer departmental budget including all supplies, travel, salaries and student labor. Help grow and allocate Foundation monies for the Department and College of Natural and Health Sciences. Plan and develop all course schedules for Geology, Chemistry and Physics. Facilitate curriculum and program development. Provide annual assessment of departmental degree programs for improvement initiatives. Perform internal review self-studies of all departmental programs. Advise Dean and V.P.A.A. regarding laboratory and facility infrastructure and maintenance planning, as well as acquisitions. Orientation Taught the university orientation course (TECH 1001) several times as well as departmental orientation courses (PHSC 1001, 1011) that prepare freshman for success in the sciences, as well as overall academic success. Co-directed enrichment programs for pre-college students. While not a direct form of student freshman recruitment, many of our former students came to ATU and cited our programs as a significant deciding factor. The programs that Dr. Kirkconnell and I conducted included: 2005 G.R.A.S.P.: Gifted Researchers Academic Summer Program, an external grant-supported th two-week, campus residential program in science for 28 gifted 9 grade students. 2003, 2004 H.S.S.E.P.: ATU-High School Summer Enrichment Program External grant-supported four-week summer, campus residential program in math, th science, and college academia for 26 11-12 grade students each summer. 1998-2002 A.E.G.I.S.: State ADHE grant-supported three-week summer, campus residential program in sciences for 36 gifted 9th grade students each summer.
