BelAir is bigger and has a great taco/drink special every Tuesday and Thursday evening. Marigold Kitchen - delicious brunch spot if you're into that! sweet and savory both awesome. you order at the counter and then sit Natt Spil- weird variety of food- pizzas, Asian, Mediterranean with a small menu. So small you might miss it. A fun range of DJs come through there. No sign on this building, but a great place. Plaka Taverna- very small place that serves greek food that's crazy good. Their hours are funky and change based on the season, but it's a delicious stop worth making. RED Madison (Sushi)- really good sushi, be prepared to wait. Fancier than everywhere else on this list! Tipsy Cow- arguably the best cheese curds in Madison. On the capitol square. Come Back In - right next to Essen Haus Essen Haus - polka dancing! German food and . Genna's - Great spot for drinks after the farmer's market, at night… on the capitol square. Great Dane - Right off the capitol square. Typical Wisconsin fare. Lucille - right on the capitol square. Pizza and . Old Fashioned - right on the capitol square. Good place for typical Wisconsin fare. Nomad World - English Soccer League games are aired here. Morris Ramen - Excellent ramen. Sardine - French inspired food. Excellent brunch - make a reservation unless you want to show up early. Along Lake Monona. Coopers - On the capitol square. Has outdoor seating in the summer. Try the poutine. Merchant Madison - Creative and good menu. Turns into a dance floor on the weekends with a DJ. Cento - Nice Italian restaurant. Their pastas are homemade and amazing.

State Street Paul's Pel'meni - Russian beef, and potato dumplings. Good deal on dinner Thursday nights. Himal Chuli - Nepalese food. Lots of vegetarian dishes. Shortstack - Brunch spot all day long and late into the night. Mirch Masala- indian food on second story on a side road off state. Consistently delicious and after shopping around, one of our favorites in Madison. Great service. Camp Trippalindee - camp themed bar and restaurant. Has board games and a good view of Lake Mendota. East Side Salvatore's Tomato Pies- In the search for the best pizza in Madison, this little spot is our favorite. Classic tossed pies, great on tap, and amazing service. El Dorado- tex mex that's delicious. fun menu, cute atmosphere, and also delicious brunch Ha Long Bay- usually busy. Huge Madison hotspot for all types of asian food. The pho, pad thai, curry, etc. is all amazing. Service is always good, but be prepared to wait! Walk around Willy (Williamson) Street- it's a fun hipster neighborhood Weary Traveler - Good spot for a burger and other pub food. Creative cocktail menu. Mickey's Tavern - Local pub food with live music and a patio. Lao Laan-Xang - Laotian food with many vegetarian options. Banzo - Mediterranean food. Recommend the falafel. Tex Tubb’s - tacos! Everly- hip american food restaurant. slightly nicer than most of the other places on this list but still pretty casual (as is all of Madison!). awesome apps that you can make a meal out of (brussel sprouts, fried gnocchi, etc.) or the butternut squash curry rocks too. everyone i know who has been there is obsessed. Middleton Novanta- great pizza spot- order and sit down. cousins with Cafe Porta Alba at Hilldale which also has fab pizza Longtable - newer spot that has an array of beers and some wine. Shareable plates. Free House - Classic (upscale-ish) pub food. Good cocktail menu. Has two outdoor patios. The Village Green - with wood paneling on all the walls and pub food. The Craftsman - Restaurant with a good brunch and good food in general. Capital Brewery - Interior portion opened year round. Has a beirgarten open during the summer and has live music as well. Catered in food available on music nights - but can always bring own food. Garten allows dogs. Villa Dolce - Italian food with a good selection of pasta, pizza and gelato. Louisianne's - Cajun food in the a basement resturant. Nicer restaurant. K Peppers - Korean food Takara 88 - quick sushi Hubbard Dinner - retro diner offering classics

Campus Memorial Union Terrace (Union North) - quintessential place to grab some food and drinks, people watch and watch the sun set over lake Mendota. Open during the summer. Live (free) music on various nights. Dotty Dumpling's Dowry - Hamburgers (vegetarian options available!), fried pickles. Good spot to eat before a UW game.

Places to Go: East Side Tenney Park - Can rent ice skates in the winter. Atwood Days - Street festival during the summer. Lots of neighborhoods have events like this - just need to research. High Noon Saloon - Live music, beer and pizza. Olbrich Park and Botanical Gardens - Biergarten, kayak rentals, and a wonderful garden to walk through in the summer! West Side Arboretum - Research prairie run by UW that's open year round. Excellent walking trails. Henry Vilas Zoo - Free! Smaller zoo, but it's a good one. Flad has a picnic here every year with AEI, FAC and ACS. Middleton Mustard Museum - Quirky museum where you can learn all about mustard. Mustard Fest - all things mustard, but most importantly, the oscar mayer wiener mobile shows up UW Campus Chazen Art Museum - UW Campus Art Museum, free admission, great exhibits UW Athletics - Football, Men and Women's Basketball, Men and Women's Hockey (W hockey tickets $4) etc… Picnic Point - Walking trail along the campus and Lake Mendota. Fire pits available. UW Theater - An array of shows offered throughout the year (even the summer).
