RESEARCH AT UNIVERSITÉ DE NANTES With its 75 research facilities accredited by the national government, more than 1,700 permanent research staff (lecturers, researchers and administrative and technical staff), 1500 contract staff (PhD students and scholars), Université de Nantes is a top comprehensive university in western France. The research covers all major fields of study, with about 40% in the natural and exact sciences, 30% in social sciences and 30% in life sciences and biomedical research.
