Energy drink (ED) consumption, even mixed with alcohol, is popular among adolescents and young adults. The side effects of ED are attributed to their active ingredients and their cumulated effect. A cross-sectional study to identify university students' ED consumption habit was realized. A small sample size (n = 10) experiment examining the effect of ED consumption on arterial blood pressure and heart rate was carried out. From the total number of 240 interviewed students, 87.1% consumed ED at least once, and one third of them did so on a monthly basis. Students consume energy drinks mainly for its taste, very rarely for studying. Differences in consumption place preferences were observed between sexes, females preferring bars, while males the dormitory. We have demonstrated the increase of systolic blood pressure (SBP) for one type of energy drink in young and healthy volunteer students. Other changes in blood pressure and heart rate were not observed. Keywords and phrases: caffeinated drinks, questionnaire survey, volunteer students, car- diovascular parameters 104 Energy drink consumption pattern and its health effect 105 1 Introduction Energy drinks are a relatively new product category on the food market.

  • Hungary 2020 Human Rights Report
HUNGARY 2020 HUMAN RIGHTS REPORT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Hungary is a multiparty parliamentary democracy. The unicameral National Assembly (parliament) exercises legislative authority. It elects the president (the head of state) every five years. The president appoints a prime minister from the majority party or coalition in parliament following national elections every four years. In parliamentary elections in 2018, the Fidesz-Christian Democratic People’s Party alliance led by Fidesz party leader Viktor Orban won a two-thirds majority in parliament. The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe election observation mission found that “fundamental rights and freedoms were respected overall, but exercised in an adverse climate.” Specifically, it characterized certain elements of the election as “at odds with the organization’s commitments” and noted, “The widespread government information campaign was largely indistinguishable from Fidesz campaigning, giving it a clear advantage.” Orban has been prime minister since 2010. The National Police Headquarters, under the direction of the minister of interior, is responsible for maintaining order nationwide. The Counterterrorism Center is responsible for protecting the president and the prime minister and for preventing, uncovering, and detecting terrorist acts; it is directly subordinate to the minister of interior. The Hungarian Defense Forces are subordinate to the Ministry of Defense and are responsible for external security as well as aspects of domestic security and disaster response. Since 2015, under a declared state of emergency prompted by mass migration, defense forces may assist law enforcement forces in border protection and handling mass migration situations. The state of emergency was renewed in September for another six months.

Cuza Street, Craiova, Romania 2University of Craiova, Faculty of Chemistry, 1071 Calea Bucuresti Blvd., Craiova, Romania *Corresponding author: [email protected] Received: June 1, 2010 Accepted: September 30, 2010 Abstract: Caffeine is a stimulant that is commonly found in many foods and drinks that we consume. Concerns exist about the potential adverse health effects of high consumption of dietary caffeine, especially in children and pregnant women. Recommended caffeine intakes corresponding to no adverse health effects have been suggested recently for healthy adults (400 – 450 mg/day), for women contemplating pregnancy (300 mg/day), and for young children age 4 – 6 years (45 mg/day). Different brands of soft and energy carbonated beverages available on the Romanian market were analysed for caffeine by HPLC with a diode array UV-VIS detector at 217 nm. The column was a reverse phase C18 and the mobile phase consisted of potassium dihydrogen orthophosphate buffer (0.02 mol/L, pH 4.3) and acetonitrile (88:12, v/v). The caffeine contents in energy drink samples ranged from 16.82 mg/100 mL to 39.48 mg/100 mL while the carbonated soft drink group showed caffeine content in the range of 9.79 – 14.38 mg/100 mL.

  • Hell Energy Drink És a Cégcsoport
Hell Energy Drink és a cégcsoport A cég bemutatása A HELL Energy Drink az alig több mint két évtizedes múltra visszatekintő és dinamikusan fejlődő energiaital kategória fiatal szereplője. A márka 2006-ban született és három éven belül kiemelkedő szereplője lett a nemzetközi energiaital piacnak. A száz százalékban magyar tulajdonú Hell Energy Magyarország Kft. 3 év alatt vált itthon piacvezetővé, miközben komoly tőkével rendelkező, multinacionális cégek a meghatározók a szegmensben. A több országban piacvezető illetve meghatározó piaci szerepet betöltő brand 2012-ben már 28 országban volt elérhető. A HELL Energy sikereit a kiváló minőségnek, a márka jó ár-érték arányának, széles körű elérhetőségének (minden országban törekszenek 70%-os disztribúció kiépítésére), a nemzetközi marketing kommunikációs háttérnek, valamint a fogyasztói igényeknek megfelelő pozicionálásnak köszönheti. Új korszak kezdődött az energiaital kategória életében, hiszen a XXI. század fogyasztói az impulzivitás mellett már nagy hangsúlyt fektetnek a megfelelő ár-érték arányra is. Ennek köszönhető, hogy a HELL energiaitalok értékesítését nem befolyásolták a világgazdasági válság fogyasztási szokásokra vonatkozó ismert hatásai és a márka vezető szerepet játszik a kategória mennyiségi növekedésében. A HELL Energy Drink portfóliójának kialakításban kizárólagos szerep jut a mindenkori fogyasztói igények követésének. A klasszikus (32 mg/100 ml koffein, tutti-frutti íz) mellett olyan versenyképes egyedi kiszerelések és innovatív termékek is elérhetőek, mint az 500 ml- es PET vagy a természetes összetevőkkel készülő új, egészségesebb HELL New Generation, illetve az extrém igénybevétel esetére ajánlott HELL Strong, amely két egyedi – almás és piros szőlős ízben – is kapható. 2012 év végén limitált szériás újdonsággal lepte meg a HELL a fogyasztóit: a kiwi és tutti-frutti ízesítéssel és különleges, téli csomagolásban debütáló HELL iceCool is hatalmas siker.
