Angkor Wat Temple was built to dedicate to the Hindu God Vishnu by King Suryavarman II (1112‐1150). It was built as the king's state temple and capital city. means "Temple City" lying 5.5 Kilometres north of province. It is the only one temple, which has remained a significant religious centre since its foundation – first Hindu, dedicated to the god Vishnu. Moreover, it was considered as one of the largest Hindu temple in the world. Then, in the late 13th century, Angkor Wat gradually moved from Hindu to Buddhist use until present day.

Angkor Wat temple has become a symbol of , appearing on its national flag because of its top classical style of Khmer architecture. It is the country’s prime attraction for visitors since 1990. When tourists come to Siem Reap, Angkor Wat is a must‐visiting place.

Day 2: Date: Dec 8th, Time: 13:30~18:00 Place: Angkor Thom means “Great City” which was the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer empire. It was established in the late 12th century under king Javaraman VII covering the area of 9km². temple is the state temple of the king Jayavarman VII which is located in the central of the city. Moreover, there are also other major interesting sites around Angkor Thom area as shown below:

1. Bayon Temple: Bayon temple was built during the reign of Jayavarman VII in the late 12th to early 13th century. It is a well designed and decorated temple at Ankorian period. The most interesting and distinctive feature of Bayon temple is the multitude of serene and massive stone faces on the many towers. 2. : the terrace was built and used by Jayavarman VII. It was used as a giant reviewing stand for public ceremonies and served as a base for the king's grand audience hall. 3. Temple: It was built at the end of the 10th century during the reign of Rajendravarman (941‐968). According to legend, the temple was built to dedicate to a nine‐head Naga who magically transformed to a beautiful lady. She always spent her nighttime with the King. If the King did not meet her just only one night, he will die on that day.

4. Baphoun Temple: It is located in northwest part of the Bayon temple. It was built as the state temple of King Udayadityavarman II in the mid‐11th century. It is a three‐tiered temple mountain, which is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva.
