Walk the haunted, restless landscape of the Waterfront with mythical-real men and women and their sounds, stories and dances. Elam @ the Central City Library: THAT’S FUNNY . Four years of art school hasn’t prepared me for this … Anti-loitering tactics, a minigolf course, live sound acts and digital haikus overrun the Library. For one night only the work of Elam School of Fine Arts students and graduates is on show at the Library. The works respond to the context of the Library and the format of White Night as a public event. TADPOLE @ the Library Live and pre-recorded sound works will be performed across the Library, with special guests. 8pm to midnight. Pukepuke ‘o Tonga tells a story of traditional village life through the historic Otuhaka, Faha’iula and Me’etupaki dance forms. Preserved for centuries in a single Tongan village, choreographer Sesilia Pusiaki Tatuila cultivates and shares these richly musical dance forms with a contemporary Auckland audience. One performance only! Choreographed by 2012 Pacific Dance Artist in Residence Sesilia Pusiaki Tatuila (of Tongan descent), 7.30pm.
