Meet Our Top Team Meet Our Top Team Lewis Mckale After graduating from Brighton University, Lewis went onto writing and recording his own songs and gigging around various parts of the UK as a solo artist sharing line-ups with artists such as John Power and Nell Bryden. Recently he has progressed into leading workshops in guitar and Ukulele. Ruta Dirsyte Ruta’s musical journey began by playing classical music on the piano at aged 6. She studied jazz guitar in Music Conservatoire and later studied at the Music Academy in Lithuania. She always felt a huge passion for writing music and became the winner of various jazz music contests and festivals. She is currently performing across London with her. She has been teaching guitar, ukulele and bass for the last 10 years. Alex Roche Alex gained a first class degree from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He has won the Birmingham Conservatoire Guitar Competition, Conservatoire Strings Etudes Prize and the Alison Stephens Competition. Alex has performed regularly in solo and chamber recitals and has performed as a concerto soloist. Alex has begun his MMus at Trinity Laban Conservatoire and is the recipient of the Leverhulme Scholarship award. Melinda Kiss Melinda is a classically trained violinist who is graduated from Middlesex University London in 2010. She currently teaches children between 4-12 in schools. She’s worked for the Strings Club for many years now. Melinda has been playing in the Collaborative Orchestra for a few years who were in the BGT semi-final last year. Meet Our Top Team Edward Black Edward is a full-time instrumental tutor and musician. Over the last ten years he's been sharing his passion for music through teaching. Edward specialises in guitar though he is also able to teach bass and ukulele. When not teaching he loves to write, record and perform original material! Chris Daniel Chris comes from a very musical background. He can play the drums, timpani, marimba, xylophone, guitar, piano, and bass. Chris believes the key to music is in your heart, and he is going to help you to find it. Alicja Maciejowska Alicja is a highly qualified violinist and experienced violin teacher. She’s a self-motivated, responsible, calm and friendly person, who always is passionate about playing and teaching with children on any levels. She holds a diploma from the Academy of Music in Cracow Master of Arts - Instrumental Performing. Kaneez Begum Kaneez currently holds a level 3 childcare and a BA Hons. in Early Childhood Studies. She has a number of year experience working with young children and currently works as a manager in a morning and after-school club. Kaneez has been with The Strings Club for the past three years. Meet Our Top Team Mercy Levett As a recent Music graduate, who specialised in composition and music production at the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland. Mercy is classically trained with the choir, Ex Cathedra, and works freelance with other organisations. She performs a variety of instruments in many styles and genres including gospel, folk, pop as well as her own compositions and songs. Claire Allen Claire is highly motivated and dedicated to promoting equality and diversity for children through her job as a Behaviour Support Specialist. She enjoys seeing children learn a musical instrument and develop their vocals chords - as she herself is a singer. Manuel La Malfa Having previously studied at private schools in Italy, he learnt solfège, theory and harmony, and styles such as classical, rock, blues, jazz, soul and acoustic. In 2010 he moved to London to study music at BIMM where he achieved a diploma in "Pop Music Performance". Since 2015 has been performing in London as a solo artist and has been an active music educator. Victoria Richards Victoria is a mum of three children. She works as part of the Inclusion team with SEND children in a primary school in the West Midlands. She's a big football fan and supports Liverpool FC. .
