SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA BACKGROUND Hinsdale Bank & Trust Company N.A, in recognition of the importance to its community of building future civic and business leaders, has established the Scholarship Program. As an active corporate citizen of the communities we serve, we endeavor always to make a positive difference in the lives of area individuals and families. GOAL OF PROGRAM The goal of the Scholarship Program is to assist graduating high school seniors in continuing their education beyond high school at a university, college, trade or vocational school. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to 14 graduating seniors from the schools listed below. ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION CRITERIA The recipients will be selected on the basis of positive leadership and character as exhibited by: 1. Academic achievement 2. Extra-curricular activities 3. Involvement in the community Awards shall be granted to one graduating senior from each of the following schools: Hinsdale South High School, Hinsdale Central High School, Downers Grove North High School, Downers Grove South High School, Westmont High School, Lyons Township High School, Riverside Brookfield High School, York Community High School, Willowbrook High School, Proviso West High School, Proviso East High School, Proviso Math & Science Academy, Glenbard East High School and Lemont High School Applicants must have maintained a “B” average, or better, for seven semesters of high school. Applicants must plan to enroll full-time at an accredited two or four-year college, university or trade/vocational school. (Proof of enrollment will be required for release of scholarship payment after the award is announced.) Gender and race will not be criteria for selection. Applicant’s total family annual income may not exceed $67,840 adjusted gross income per federal income tax documents. Employees of the Hinsdale Bank & Trust Company and members of their immediate families are not eligible. STUDENT SELECTION PROCESS Applicants must submit a completed application to the guidance/scholarship counselor’s office by their designated date. The respective high school scholarship selection committees will evaluate the applications and announce the recipients. .
