At the center of the circle, an open textbook symbolizes learning. The Latin words, “NIHIL NISI OPTIMUM,” meaning “NOTHING BUT THE BEST,” define the type of learning experiences that Proviso East High School strives to provide for all of its students. The year 1910, located beneath the book, is the year that the bond issue providing for the establishment of a township high school carried.
