LISMORE WORKERS MASTERS GAMES CRICKET RULES FRIDAY, 27 SEPTEMBER – SUNDAY, 29 SEPTEMBER, 2019

RULES OF PLAY A match consists of 32 overs, with 16 overs per batting team Each innings should take no longer than one hour. Teams should be ready to take the field immediately the preceding matches have concluded.

BATTING Batsmen are to retire at the score of 25, or immediately after the scoring shot that passes 24. Retired batsmen may resume their innings, in the order of retirement, once every other team member has been dismissed. The incoming batsman must be waiting on the field next to the square-leg umpire. Batsmen are to change ends at the completion of each 6-ball .

BOWLING Each innings will be 16 overs, with 8 overs being bowled consecutively from each end. A bowler may only have one (1) bowling spell in a match. Bowlers may have a maximum of 2 overs which be bowled consecutively.ie bowl 12 balls consecutively If a bowler intends bowling one over only, he must inform the umpire before commencing his spell. Each bowler is allowed a maximum of 8 deliveries if bowling one over; or 16 deliveries if bowling a 2 over spell. This includes wides and no balls. Any deliveries remaining after this shall not be bowled, but each will be recorded as a penalty of 4 runs, to be entered as “extra runs” – see score sheet under “Extras”. An injured bowler may be replaced by another player who shall not exceed the 2 over limit. Bouncers are banned. Wides and no balls are scored as 1 , plus any other runs scored from that .

BOUNDARY MARKINGS Our Masters Games 4 and 6 boundary line has been shortened to within 10 metres inside the normal boundary line.- The normal boundary marking for a 6 now represents an “8” Note: A catch taken between the 6 and 8 boundary lines is deemed officially as “caught out”

FIELD RESTRICTIONS Usual rules: 11 fieldsmen maximum of 5 on the on side; and maximum of 2 behind square leg; 5 inside the marked inner circle, including the bowler and wicketkeeper.

COMPLETION OF MATCHES The team batting second will bat (i) until dismissed or (ii) until they have received their 16 overs, even if they have passed the opposition’s total. This ensures that as many players as possible participate in Masters Games matches. Final stats also determine gradings for semi-finals.

RESULTS AND SCORE SHEETS Score sheets will be provided. Captains are to collect these from the clubhouse prior to the commencement of matches. Score sheets are to be signed by umpires as official recognition of “correct weight”. Winning captains are responsible for returning fully completed score sheets to the clubhouse immediately after the conclusion of each match. This includes bowling analysis, catches & stumpings. Semi Final gradings and individual stats depend entirely on your scorer.
