Since January 2017, he has also been a Lecturer with the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Bilbao, Spain. From February 2012 to May 2012 he was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN, USA. His current research interests include modelling, modulation and control of power converters, multilevel topologies, advanced modulation techniques, high- power motor drives and grid-tied converters. Iosu Marzo was born in Bergara, Spain, in 1995. He received the B.S. degree in Renewable Energies Engineering, and the M.S. degree in the Integration of Renewable Energies into the Power Grid, both from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Spain, in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Cinema was able to bring together moving image and sound for the first time, and as a result of its audiovisual nature, it is a particularly suitable resource for motivation in education. In this light, the teacher’s perception for its application in its initial formal stage is highly relevant. The main objective of our research, therefore, has been to analyze the perceptions of cinema as a didactic resource for the transmission of content in preschool and primary education by students who are studying to become teachers themselves. The sample was composed of 4659 students from Spanish universities, both public and private. In addition to this, the PECID questionnaire was elaborated ad hoc and a comparative ex post facto design was adopted. The result showed that over 87% of students recognized the diverse educational potentialities of cinema, with motivation being an important factor. Furthermore, significant differences were found in perceptions according to different factors such as the type of teacher training degree, the Autonomous Community in which the student studied, as well as film consumption habits. -

1 UC REAL-2016 SUMMER PROGRAMS SPANISH LANGUAGE AND CULTURE Program Director: Prof. Dr. Jesus Angel Solórzano, Dean, UC Faculty of Arts and Humanities Program Coordinator: Prof. Dr. Marta Pascual, Director of the UC Language Center (CIUC) This Program is intended to offer all REAL students full immersion into the Spanish way of life, and combines the learning of Spanish Language with sessions on Spanish History, Arts, and Gastronomy. The program is scheduled so that it can be taken in combination with any of the other three. It includes Spanish Grammar and Conversation classes in the afternoons, as well as Friday morning sessions on Spanish Art and History, including guided excursions to relevant historical sites of Cantabria, and practical Spanish Gastronomy sessions on Wednesday nights. All classes will be taught in Spanish and groups will be made according to the results of a language placement test. Spanish Culture sessions, taught in an easy to follow Spanish, will be common to all students and beginners will be assisted by their instructors. Academic load: 52 contact hours (32 hours of Spanish Language, plus 20 hours of Spanish Culture sessions) Subjects included: • Spanish Language for foreigners: Monday through Thursday, 3-5 pm • Spanish Art and History Sessions: Fridays (3, 10 and 17 June), from 9 am to 1 pm • Spanish Gastronomy. 468 The Evolution of Legal Education in Spain Soledad Atienza Since the 1960s, Spanish law schools have educated lawyers who have assisted in the opening of the national economy and helped develop successful international law firms in Spain based on the Anglo-American model. Yet until recently, little of the dynamism reflected in the Spanish economy and, more directly, in the legal profession, was evident in law school methods or curriculum. This article presents a view of the Spanish legal profession and its relationship to the legal educational system. It begins with an overview of changes in the Spanish legal market over the past few decades. Then it explains the state of law schools in Spain, which for the most part have not kept pace with this changing market. A notable exception is described, as well as the recent adoption of the “Bologna process,” which has the potential to encourage change in Spanish law schools. The article then presents short testimonials from Spanish law graduates from five different decades as to the role their legal education played in their respective professional successes. I. The Spanish Legal Market With a population of over 40,000,000,1 Spain ranks fifth in the European Union in the number of lawyers,2 with one lawyer for every 366 inhabitants, or about 120,000 lawyers.3 Madrid has the largest number of lawyers per capita, approximately one for every 200 inhabitants. In the last ten years the number of lawyers in Spain has increased 24 percent,4 and the population has increased 13.4 percent.5 Soledad Atienza is a Law Professor and is the Director of the LLB at IE Law School-IE University. -

The findings from this doctoral research reveal that biodiversity-based innovation is a social shaping process that has resulted in large benefits. The cumulative capability to use species from biodiversity gives meanings that contribute to the species shaping process, with organisations and institutional changes providing direction and increasing the rate of the shaping process. -
