Rebellion is the authority and supremacy to Jesus – the Alpha and Omega – of hubris that “man + technology” can create a false paradise history and our stories. We must never get used to sidelining without God. Redemption, on the other hand, is the hope that Jesus in our hearts and homes, in our churches and ministries, “Jesus + the Cross” alone offers us true paradise with God. in our schools and work, in our neighbourhood and nation. 1 2021 Handbook 2021 Theme: Back to Basics, Back to Jesus Our whole preaching program for 2021, as always, will focus on centring our lives on Jesus’ Great Commission as we live out his Great Commandment to love one another as his disciples. We praise God for the launch of our Guest Workers (GWs) Adopt A Dorm (AAD) ministry in response to COVID-19. We thank God that our members’ love in reaching our GWs has been exemplary and has won the trust of our authorities. So, we pray to keep maturing by going “Back to Jesus” personally by seeking new Godly habits of prayer and holiness. Our new identity in Christ must lead to new Spirit-filled habits that glorify God. Then, we pray to go “Back to Jesus” collectively as a church. We must remember that we are not blessed as an end to itself. We are blessed to be a blessing (Genesis 12:1–3). Thus, all our ministries must not exist as holy huddles or spiritual ghe$os for our fake security. Our small groups exist to serve the body of Christ in ARPC, Singapore and beyond. See how we can take part in our Spiritual Highlights (Pages 6–7). 4. A Personal Word: Back to Basics By God’s grace, Mona and I begin our 31st year of loving, serving and worshipping God with you in ARPC. It is our singular joy and privilege. By God’s grace, we will be going back to basics literally as we pray humbly and prepare tepidly for a season of grandparenting! As Mona and I, like others, mature to a season of raising a grandchild vicariously, we are excited to launch the next phase of our all-age ministries to mature ARPC. We, together with a group of mature leaders, are going to use all our God-given experiences and wisdom to start a “Dads, Mums & Families for Christ (DMFC) ministry. We will focus on “Marriage & Parenting Discipleship (MPD)” to supplement our Marriage Preparation and Enrichment and provide much needed LRT (Leadership, Resources & Testimonies). See Page 4. By God’s grace, Mona and I march forth – prayerfully and humbly with you as our leaders and members in ARPC – to love, save and disciple lost people for Jesus.
