E-Content B.Ed ll Sem Paper Name: Computer Education Paper code : BED 308(B) Unit : ll COMPUTER SOFTWARE MEANING:- Computer software, also called software, is a set of instructions and its documentations that tells a computer what to do or how to perform a task. Software includes all different software programs on a computer, such as applications and the operating system. This includes application software such as a word processor, which enables a user to perform a task, and system software such as an operating system, which enables other software to run properly, by interfacing with hardware and with other software. Practical computer systems divide software into three major classes: system software, programming software and application software, although the distinction is arbitrary, and often blurred. Computer software has to be "loaded" into the computer's storage (such as a hard drive, memory, or RAM). Once the software is loaded, the computer is able to execute the software. Computers operate by executing the computer program. This involves passing instructions from the application software, through the system software, to the hardware which ultimately receives the instruction as machine code. Each instruction causes the computer to carry out an operation -- moving data, carrying out a computation, or altering the control flow of instructions. Working on a Large Staff Gave Me the Ability to Work Both Individually and with Other
Working on a large staff gave me the ability to work both individually and with other. This resulted in works that felt both personal and collaborative, a good mix for a yearbook. Through the year I took different approaches to my work, sometimes these approaches produced interesting and refreshing takes on visuals and other times it did not. I learned through experimentation how to move past first-level creativity and create unique and visually pleasing illustrations that fit the theme of the yearbook. The first half of the production cycle, the majority of my work was done by hand using traditional materials. Through critique and revision, most works were either reworked into a digital setting to give a cleaner and more modern look. Comments and constructive criticism given to me by the advisor, editors, and outside experts pushed me to step outside of what had been comfortable and create fresher visuals. This worked especially well for the eclipse spread, where the portraits were originally hand-drawn. By revising the aesthetic of the portraits in Illustrator, I was able to create a more cohesive piece that fit the overall feel of the spread. Throughout the year I taught myself how to better use a Wacom tablet and Adobe programs. By using my previous experience with Wacom tablets and Adobe programs, along with skills and techniques used in traditional art I quickly picked up the quirks of a professional tablet and professional level programs. Adobe PhotoShop was the program I knew the best and graphics were made using this program during the first half of production. -

Sendo um software livre, é gratuito para qualquer usuário, basta baixar o arquivo executável no site oficial GIMP ( www.gimp.org ). IMPORTANTE: Existem versões para as plataformas LINUX, Windows e Mac disponíveis no site oficial do GIMP, mas atenção para fazer o download da versão compatível com o seu sistema operacional. Também verifique o idioma da versão que está baixando, além, evidentemente, de usar sites seguros para fazer download para a sua máquina. FATOS: O projeto foi criado no ano de 1995 por Spencer Kimball e Peter Mattis quando o desenvolveram como um projeto para a faculdade. O mascote oficial do projeto chama-se Wilber e foi criado dois anos depois do desenvolvimento do programa, no dia 25 de setembro de 1997 por Tuomas Kuosmanen. GIMP e outros softwares de manipulação de imagem: Embora a comparação não seja “justa”, o GIMP é geralmente comparado ao programa Adobe Photoshop, conhecido manipulador e criador de imagem digital. De uma forma mais direta, ao se conhecer os dois programas se encontrará similaridades, mas também diferenças; especialmente em termos de efeitos e caminhos para acessar funções.
