    News Release Toyota Boshoku’s Innovative Sports Seat Debuts in New Lexus IS Lineup Foam In Place Method enhances hold performance and design Kariya (Japan) May 23, 2013 – Toyota Boshoku Corporation (Tokyo: 3116, President, Shuhei Toyoda) is pleased to announce that its innovative sports seat will debut in the sports version of the redesigned Lexus IS lineup, “F SPORT”. This seat was specially designed with Lexus in mind to achieve enhanced ride comfort and high-quality design to suit the sporty Lexus model. The new sports seat conforms to the contours of the body and ensures a comfortable fit to protect the shoulders and torso from gravitational pull during cornering. Moreover, the seat is slimmer achieving a more sophisticated and sleek design that enhances the high-grade sporty atmosphere. The seat is created utilizing the “Foam In Place Method” where urethane is directly injected into seat covers that have been placed inside metal molds and then the foam sets to the intended shape. Compared to conventional methods of attaching seat covers to pre-formed foam, the Foam In Place Method creates shapes that are ideal for ensuring a comfortable ride and achieves high-quality design. Moreover, this method can be used with fabric, genuine leather and man-made material to create a wide variety of desired shapes. In its pursuit to provide a comfortable ride that makes the rider feel as if they are one with the car, Toyota Boshoku has developed sports seats that are installed in racecars and sports cars. Here on out Toyota Boshoku will continue to apply the knowledge it acquired through the development of sports seats to achieve pinnacle seat performance, and proactively provide appealing seat proposals to our customers around the world.

Development Capabilities As an interior system supplier, Toyota Boshoku is taking on the challenge of total technological innovation for interior components, filtration and powertrain components and textiles and exterior components from the unique perspective of interior space without being constrained by the current shape of vehicles. Environmental Technologies The Toyota Boshoku group is working in concert to undertake a variety of global initiatives to address environmental issues, which are now being demanded of companies. These initiatives include formulating the 2015 Environmental Action Plan and creating technologies and products and building production processes that contribute to the environment. Global Development To achieve further growth as a truly global company, the Global Mainstay Hub and Regional Management & Collaboration Hubs will collaborate closely and promote efficient management while carrying out strategic business that accurately ascertains market trends in each region. Human Resources Development To expand business globally, we will develop personnel with high-level skills and techniques and who are adept at manufacturing.     September 2009 MY10 VE and WM PRODUCT INFORMATION 3.0L and 3.6L SIDI V6 Engines Overview The Global V6 engine family was launched by General Motors in 2003 to fulfil its strategy to build a new generation of engines for flexible worldwide application in premium and high- performance vehicles. Today GM Powertrain’s all-alloy 60-degree double overhead cam (DOHC) Global V6 engines power a variety of vehicles around the world. GM Holden is a producer as well as a user of Global V6 engines. In 2003 its newly commissioned $400 million Port Melbourne V6 engine plant began building Global V6 engines for export. In August 2004 Alloytec Global V6 engines were introduced to the Australian market with the Holden VZ Commodore and WL Caprice and Statesman model ranges. The latest evolution of the Global V6 is the Spark Ignition Direct Injection SIDI V6; which offers advanced direct combustion chamber fuel injection. Like its predecessor, the SIDI V6 applies highly developed engine technologies such as state-of- the-art casting processes, full four-cam phasing, ultra-fast data processing and torque-based engine management. GM Holden engineers jointly assisted in the architectural development of the SIDI V6 with colleagues from GM technical centres in North America and Germany. The 3.0L and 3.6L SIDI V6 engines introduced with the MY10 Holden Commodore, Berlina, Calais, Sportwagon, Ute, Statesman and Caprice model ranges combine with smooth-shifting six-speed automatic transmission and dual exhaust specified as standard*. They deliver a balance of improved operating refinement with first-rate noise and vibration control, good specific output, high torque over a broad rpm band, fuel economy and low emissions, exclusive durability-enhancing features and very low maintenance.
