1 2 3 Cast, Student Directors, and Production Team The One Act - (Artistic) Director's note:

I love everything about The One Act. I love watching the older and more experienced students teach, mentor, and encourage the younger students. I love hearing the encouragement and watching them lead rehearsals with confidence and passion. I also love seeing younger students be challenged and make connections with each other and with the upperclassmen. AND I love that I get to support instead of lead. There is just so much to celebrate.

We could have easily thrown in the towel this year with theatre. COVID has taken a toll on everyone in some way and the performing arts are certainly one of the areas hardest hit both financially and artistically. But I know how much the arts can impact and so it means so very much to me that CHCA was able to provide these opportunities not only to our students, but to our community. We need the arts more than ever right now and I am celebrating our COVID theatre season.

Frozen Jr., Reckless, The Adventures of Flat Stanley, Beauty and the Beast, Peter and the Starcatcher, and The One Act. Our community produced six shows in a year with a pandemic. Six shows that delighted not only live audiences, but people across the nation who might not have been able to see them otherwise. Six shows that spanned eight grades, involved over 250 people, and demonstrated the very kingdom of God as people worked together, sharing their gifts and talents, and pouring love into the production and the people.

As we wrap up a season that could have been non-existent, I want to say thank you to EVERY SINGLE PERSON involved in any way this year. I truly felt God’s presence and His hand with every step. I know people are talking of returning to normal and I too am looking forward to no masks and full houses, but I think we experienced the extraordinary this year and that is where I’d like to stay. In the extraordinary of God’s power, love, and blessings.

Enjoy this last show. Susan Jung
