Swami Chidanand Saraswati Honored with 'Global Peace Award' Sushil DECEMBER 18TH, 2017 CURRENT AFFAIRS Swami Chidanand Saraswati honored with 'Global Peace Award' All India Council of Human Rights Liberties and Social Justice (AHILS) has conferred the 'Global Peace Award' to Lord Shivanand Saraswati, Paramarth Niketan, Rishikesh. AWARDS ● He got this honor to spread the message of peace in the world. NEWS ● Along with the above, Parmarth is associated with Niketan Ashram and Swami Chindanand's disciple Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati has been honored with 'Peace Ambassador Award'. ● The All India Council of Human Rights Liberties and Social Justice (AHILS) organized a function in Delhi on December 10, 2017 to honor. ● On this occasion Swamy Chidanand Saraswati Maharaj said that the basic purpose of human life is to serve the needy and establish peace with love and goodwill in society. ● During this time, he also resolved to establish peace with the guests present at the ceremony. ● In the program, Dr. Lokesh Muni, founder of Vishva Bharati, and Dr. Omar Ahmed Ilyasi, Head of All India Imam Organization were also present. Sushil Kumar and Sakshi Malik won gold Two-time Olympic medal winner Sushil Kumar returned to international level after winning gold medal in Commonwealth Wrestling Championship in Johannesburg, South Africa. Rajasthan government will give political prisoner status to democracy The Rajasthan State Government announced that prisoners locked in jail during the Emergency will be given the status of 'Democracy Fighter'.     India, a country with second largest population, has struggled to win medals at Olympics. India dominated the hockey field in which it has won eight gold medals so far. But after 1980 Moscow Olympics, the hockey team failed to snatch a single medal. India first participated at the Olympic Games in 1900, with a lone athlete Norman Pritchard. The nation first sent a team to the Summer Olympic Games in 1920, and has participated in every Summer Games since then. India has so far won 9 gold medals, 6 silver and 11 bronze medals, a total of 26 medals in 30 Olympics Games. In the 1900 Paris Olympics, Norman Pritchard won silver medals in the 200m and the 200m hurdles.
