Due to his interest in agriculture, Saunders was in close contact over many years with several UM members with a similar interest. One of these was Jorian Jenks, editor of the journal Rural Economy (published jointly by two independent bodies, the Economic Reform Club and the Rural Reconstruction Association), and a member of the . Other correspondence is held in the special files “None Need Starve” (D4) and Rural Reconstruction Association Research Committee (D7, D8), and in the general correspondence files. The reason for this distribution is not always clear.
