Re: RFQ #19-001 for Professional Services Landscape Architecture Design & Planning

To Whom It May Concern:

Please accept this letter of recommendation for GAi's Community Solutions Group (CSG) for the above noted RFQ. Recently, I worked with the CSG team on a direct assignment: The Warehouse Arts District/ Deuces Live Joint Action Plan. This effort spanned two adjoining business districts - an emerging industrial arts area and a historic African American Main Street- with different issues and opportunities, sharing a common goal of an improved public realm that raises the social, cultural, and economic potential of the area. The CSG team successfully worked with diverse community stakeholders to examine the study area, and develop urban planning concepts and specific landscape architectural designs & budgets for a capital improvements program. The final plan included recommendations for improved infrastructure and streetscape, a road conversion with new bicycle facilities and on-street parking, two new signature parks, and a variety of placemaking enhancements. The City is preparing to begin implementation of the plan with early phase investments.

In addition to this project, CSG has also worked in recent past with the City on our Innovation District Master Plan and our Waterfront Master Plan. We have been consistently happy with all aspects of our working relationship with CSG and would recommend them for similar public realm planning & design assignments.

Sincerely,

Brian Caper Economic Development Officer City of St. Petersburg 727-893-7035 [email protected]

December 6, 2018

To whom it may concern: Please accept this letter of recommendation for GAI’s Community Solutions Group (CSG) for urban planning, redevelopment, and landscape architectural services. The Gainesville CRA and I personally have worked with the CSG team on two recent direct initiatives: 1. The South Main Street Corridor Plan. This included corridor planning, public engagement, and detailed landscape architectural / streetscape plans to convert this corridor to a “complete street”. The project is currently under construction and is transforming the area as a place to go to, not just through.

2. The Power District Redevelopment Site. The scope included planning, economic development, and real estate development services to assist the Gainesville CRA in positioning the property and soliciting viable private sector redevelopment proposals.

The CSG team has worked successfully with our team and various stakeholders on each of these projects and is a continuing service provider to both the City and the CRA for landscape architecture, planning / economic development, and engineering. Their work continually exceeds expectations and we plan to continue our professional relationship in the coming years.

Sincerely,

Andrew Meeker, CRA Manager Gainesville Community Redevelopment Agency 802 NW 5th Ave. Suite 200 Gainesville, FL 32601 [email protected] 352-393-8205

October 1, 2015

Dear Pete and Community Solutions Group:

I want to thank you for the outstanding urban planning and landscape design work you and your team at GAI /Community Solutions Group did forthe City of Wauwatosa.

Our city has a once in a lifetime opp01tunity to transform our historic downtown business district into a livable, walkable dynamic center appealing to businesses, residents and community leaders for many years to come. We were looking for a partner to help us understand and transform this area and you exceeded all our expectations.

It was remarkable how well the process transpired. Your expertise, innovative ideas and consensus building helped build excitement and momentum foro ur neighborhoods and unite some very diverse stakeholders, including: the Streetscape Steering Committee (comprised of business, city staff and community leaders), The Village businesses (Village Business Improvement District), community residents, Common Council and city Engineering Staff.

I was impressed with the way you and your team walked our streets and neighborhoods, attended a conce1i and ate in local restaurants to really get a sense of how our residents lived, walked and explored our this area. You listened first to the many diverse groups and came back with several conceptual design options and used their input to generate an iconic, exciting and enthusiastically-accepted design concepts for our most important public space.

Your tean1 successfully engaged the public (more than 500 contacts in over 20 meetings) and their support and endorsement by the major stakeholders help with unanimous approvals by our Common Council.
