Taking a step towards collective growth, the group of Achhawar village weave carpets using looms provided by a Carpet Manufacturer, and after completing this initial process, they give the product to the group of Pipar Gaon village to carry out the carpet finishing. This ensures that both the groups are engaged in the business and the group members are earning well. Upon selling the finished carpets in the market, the money that is collected via the sale of the products is deposited in the bank accounts of their groups. So far, the TARA Akshar Upadak Sawayam Sahayta Samuh SHG for Carpet Weaving has generated revenue of approximately INR 75,000 while the SHG for Carpet Finishing, Vikas Vikalp Udpadak Sawayam Sahayara Samuh has generated revenue of approximately INR 55,000.

Hemoglobin test is not available at District Women Hospital (Mau), District Women Hospital (Budaun), CHC Partawal (Maharajganj), CHC Kasia (Kushinagar), CHC Ghatampur (Kanpur Nagar) and CHC Dewa (Barabanki). 132 8.2 CBC Test ‐ State level Complete Blood Count (CBC) test is being offered at very few FRUs. While none of the sub‐divisional hospitals are having this facility, only 25 percent of the BMCs, 42 percent of the CHCs and less than half of the DWHs contacted are offering this facility. Division wise‐ As per the graph above, only 46 percent of the 206 FRUs studied across the state are offering CBC (Complete Blood Count) test service. None of the FRUs in Jhansi division is having this service. While 29 percent of the health facilities in Moradabad division are offering this service, most others are only a shade better. My buddy is now off to the UK again to watch the Cricket World Cup. Since the Summer Olympics of 2012, a school in Peshawar has been a�acked, so has the Manchester Arena and lately even a mosque in New Zealand. It is clear. The perpetrators want to widen their strike zones to increase the fear. Hence as I write this preview to this mega cricke�ng event, I want to share that safety of all concerned is paramount for me. Afghanistan, the babies of the cricke�ng world, would know what I mean. For them, cricket provides iden�ty, it gives them a purpose and above all it gives them pride. They will certainly not win this one but their mere presence gives hope to our region. I will be checking their progress very closely.
