Volunteers Needed

Preparations for us to come out of the ‘lock down’ are now underway. It is vital that we are ready to do so when the time comes. We are going to need more people to help at the Church than ever before. Volunteers to act as stewards, to control entry to the building, and to guide people to where they may sit. We will also

require teams to clean the Church after people have visited. Please consider volunteering. Thank you to

those who have already done so.

It is most likely that we will have to increase the number of Masses to ensure we can accommodate overall demand whilst complying with the restrictions on the numbers allowed into the Church. The measures we take be sustainable so we are going to need many more people

Most of our 'traditional' helpers and volunteers are in vulnerable groups.

We need everyone, especially younger parishioners, to rally round.

Not just the faithful few to pull together!

AN UPDATED MESSAGE FROM FR.DARREN AND FR.CHRISTOPHER

We hope and expect that the restrictions placed on churches during the covid19 will soon be relaxed. This however will inevitably be a slow and process. In the beginning we might envisage only being permitted to open St Peter's to private prayer. When this happens the Church won't be the same as before. Use of the building will have to be carefully managed and controlled, if we are to ensure a safe environment. Measures will have to be put in place to keep visitors and clergy safe. Maintaining high standards of hygiene in order to avoid any potential spread of the virus will be essential. It will also be some time until we are able to celebrate Mass to a congregation.

In the meantime Holy Mass will continue to be celebrated by Fr. Darren and Fr. Chris each day, as above, and can be viewed online via our Youtube channel - as can Rosary and Bennediction - beginning at 7pm ton Thursday.

'God Bless', Fr.Darren & Fr.Chris. Parish Collections

For several months we have not had any Sunday Masses, and therefore no Sunday Collections. We have also lost income from our car park. However, at the same time a number of people have given to the Parish by putting envelopes through the Presbytery front door. Others are saving their envelopes until we are allowed to reopen. Alongside this many people give their weekly offering to the Parish as a weekly standing order.

To everyone concerned, ‘Thank you’!

If anyone would like to pay to the Parish by standing order, please contact the Parish by telephone or email,

and the necessary details for giving by standing order will be posted out to you.

The Parish needs your support more than ever.

But make no mistake the Lord is with us!
