INTRODUCTION MEMBERS National Taiwan Normal University Library INTRODUCTION "The Taiwanese Alliance of University Museums" ("TAUM" in short) began as an on-going network of coop- erative projects and professional friendships held between the university museums, historical archives, galleries, and libraries of the universities in Taiwan. The initiative began at the "2016 University Museum Conference" organized by the National Cheng Kung University Museum, where the representatives of participating universi- ties have achieved consensus related to the eventual establishment of the Alliance in the following May. Its first meeting was then held on August 23, 2017 at National Cheng Kung University Museum in Tainan. The mission of TAUM is to encourage and initiate smoother frequent cooperation and exchanges of experi- ences between university museums, historical archives, galleries, and libraries. TAUM welcome more members to use this platform. It also seeks for international connection and opportunities of cooperation for staff training, traveling exhibition, exchange of management experience, and joint researches. 24/1/2015 Ministry of Education Republic of China (Taiwan) Chinese Language Centers The Republic of China(ROC) on Taiwan has for many years been home to numerous institutions devoted to the study of the Chinese Language. Perhaps this is one reason why the number of foreign students coming to the ROC for all levels of language study has been increasing for so long. Students find that in addition to being able to enjoy the benifits of language training facilities, there is a much to be learned from experiencing the blend of tradition and modernity found in Taiwan. Students can simultaneously observe traditional Chinese culture as well as enjoy the advantages of a modern, developed society. This, combined with ease of association with native speakers, is enough to make the ROC a fine Chinese language learning environment.
