1. Upcoming Second Hand Uniform Dates Please note that in order to ensure social distancing and the safety of all concerned, the above uniform sales will be by appointment only through an online booking system. A strict in and out system will be in place and only 3 sets of ONE parent & ONE child will be admitted for each 20 minute time slot. Siblings are not allowed unless they are also from the school and need to get uniform. Families must stay together at all times. We regret that we cannot take advance reservations for items. Sales will be on a first come first served basis.

There are a total of 144 appointment slots available over the 3 days. Appointments can be booked via: https://form.jotform.com/cchsgptfa/ptfa-second-hand-uniform-shop

The PTFA would be very grateful for volunteers to help out on the uniform sale dates. Please sign up to volunteer via : https://volunteersignup.org/DY3BF

2. Second Hand Uniform and Revision Books Collection CCHSG PTFA has been running a very successful Second Hand Uniform Shop for the past four years. This great initiative has helped many families and will be particularly needed in the current economic climate. We sell our stock of uniform at very affordable prices and the proceeds allow the PTFA to fund additional equipment and resources for departments across the school.

This September, we will be welcoming 192 new Yr 7 students. With the upcoming uniform sales in mind we appeal for donations of uniform, PE kits, etc. that are in good condition and can be resold. We particularly hope that Yr 11 parents will donate the uniform that their daughters no longer need as they progress on to Sixth Form.

We are also grateful for donations of 11 Plus, SATs, GCSE and A Level revision books.

In line with guidelines relating to the Covid-19 pandemic, your donation of goods can be deposited into a wheelie bin and tote box, which are both clearly marked and situated to the left of the reception entrance at the school. Please place items in the depositories provided between Monday - Thursday only. This is to allow 72 hours for the clothes and books to become sterile and they will be collected and sorted by the PTFA every Monday morning. Thank you in advance for responding to this appeal.

3. Seamstress Available for Uniform Alterations We are pleased to be collaborating with Mrs Sally (Sal) Williams of Copford, Colchester who will be able to do alterations to your daughter's uniform including blazer at a very affordable price. Contact: Sal at 01206 211735 / 07542182552 OR email [email protected]. Address: No. 10, Coppingford End, Copford, CO6 1YG.

4. Cloth Face Coverings – 50 donated so far The PTFA would like to continue enlisting the support of students and parents in the making of cloth face coverings, both for yourselves but also to donate to the school for staff and vulnerable students. Ideally, these are made of plain cloth - dark colours like navy, black or grey in colour in keeping with the school's uniform colours. Masks can be posted to the school or sent in when school reopens. We aim to have 500 masks. For design and template of masks, go to https://sewing.com/cloth-mask-diy/

5. Easyfundraising As we all continue to practise social distancing, more of our shopping is being done online. A really simple and FREE way to support the school during this difficult time is to sign up to Easyfundraising. Every time you do your online shopping via Easyfundraising, retailers donate money to CCHSG PTFA, completely free.
