This year we return to the Apex Hotel where we will again welcome friends, members, guests, Life Members, Life Associates, Past Presidents and senior swimmers including some of those who performed so well at this year’s Commonwealth Games. All adult males who have a connection with the Club should give this annual occasion a try if they haven’t been before whether they be senior swimmers, parents or former members. For those whose attendance may have lapsed over the years we’d love to see you back again to renew your association with the regulars.

The toast to the Club this year will be given by comedy script writer Mr Stewart Smith. The Warrender quartet, led by former water polo international Ali Ramm will also be regaling the guests in their inimitable verse. I’m thrilled to be working with such an enthusiastic bunch of swimmers in Benson Blue Squad. There hasn't been a quiet moment so far... and I don't intend on there being one!

I'm excited to see the technical improvements we can make as a squad over the coming months. With the first development meet on the horizon, it will be a great opportunity to see those skills in action!

Firstly, I would like to thank my previous administrator Graham Shulman for all the work he did last season and all the help he gave me since I joined. It is very much appreciated. Can all swimmers remember to come to your sessions in time to do a warm up before getting into the pool for the main session? If you get into this habit now, it will help you as you progress through the club. And a reminder to all parents to please check their emails regularly to avoid missing any late updates, so that you are aware of any last minute pool changes. It’s never nice to turn up to the pool when the session has been cancelled…
