The $2.4 billion will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia, transporting around 28,000 people every day to key destinations, new communities and essential services. It is expected to open in 2023. Work is continuing in Parramatta to construct the light rail. The current stage of work is to install streetlights, drainage and the new road beside the recently constructed rail track. Parramatta Connect has been engaged by Transport for NSW to complete this work. Upcoming work and traffic changes: Church Street from /Albert Street to Changed traffic conditions are in operation at weekends during low traffic volumes to minimise traffic disruption. • Intermittent lane closures of Pennant Hills Road/Albert Street at the intersection of Church Street from 9pm, Friday 28 May to 5am, Monday 31 May 2021. Church Street will be closed from Pennant Hills Road/Albert Street to Grose Street. • Intermittent lane closures of Victoria Road and Grose Street at the intersections of Church Street from 9pm, Friday 4 June to 5am, Monday 7 June 2021 and from 9pm, Friday 25 June to 5am, Monday 28 June 2021. Church Street will be closed from Grose Street to Victoria Road. Vehicle and pedestrian access across Church Street at these intersections will be maintained. Church Street will remain closed between Dunlop Street and Pennant Hills Road/Albert Street to Monday 21 June 2021. Church Street will remain closed between Victoria Road and Palmer Street to Saturday 10 July 2021. When will the work take place? The work will be carried out during the day and at night as working in the roadway during the week is an unacceptable risk to safety and traffic flow. If work is delayed it will be carried out on the next available weekend. See the detailed work schedule at www.parramattalightrail.nsw.gov.au/weekly-works. Traffic and pedestrian access Temporary pedestrian and traffic control will be in place as required to ensure safe movements around the work zones. Traffic management will include temporary road, footpath and lane closures, and the removal of any kerbside parking within the work zone. Access for residents, businesses and emergency services will be maintained at all times. Please follow the direction of traffic controllers and signs, proceed carefully and allow extra travel time.

Parramatta Light Rail Changed traffic conditions, Church Street, North Parramatta/Parramatta

What equipment will be used? Equipment will include, but is not limited to, traffic barriers, power tools, hand-held tools, drills, jackhammers, concrete saw cutters, excavators with attachments, cranes, mini-loaders, vacuum trucks, elevated work platforms, lighting towers, chain saws, mulchers, horizontal grinders, compactors, trucks and light vehicles. How will the work affect you? There are some noise, dust and vibration impacts associated with these works which at times is loud, continuous and disruptive. Some of the ways we manage this is by: • Completing work activities during standard construction hours, where possible • Providing respite periods for high noise activities • Completing the noisiest activities early in the shift and using non-tonal reversing beepers and noise blankets • Monitoring and reviewing noise levels.
