Media Backgrounder Infrastructure Improvements and Updates Parkland Central • Through the MRIF (Municipal Rural Infrastructure Program) the provincial government is contributing $250,000 to the town of Duck Lake in order to expand the town’s water reservoir to meet their drinking water and fire protection needs. This expansion will serve to improve the quality of life for the people of Duck Lake and surrounding residents. • Through the MRIF we are contributing $250,000 to upgrade the water treatment system of the expanding town of Birch Hills. The town’s booming population has increased demand on its water treatment capacity, and this upgrade will help meet the demand for the next twenty to thirty years. • Through the MRIF we are contributing $15,000 to replace the old sewage pumps in the town of Kinistino. The pumps now run under capacity and treat all of the town’s sewage before it is pumped into the effluent system. • We are spending $18.2M to twin 13.7 km of highway Hwy 11, to grade 12.3 km of the highway in preparation for paving next year, and to grade an additional 11.3km from north of Macdowall to the Junction of Highway 2. • We are spending $2.4M to resurface numerous areas of Hwy 41. • We have committed $300,000 to improve diagnostic health equipment for the Prince Albert Parkland Health District (affects Batoche, Carrot River Valley, Prince Albert, and Saskatchewan Rivers.) • We have committed $117,000 to improve diagnostic health equipment for the Kelsey Trail Health District (affects Batoche, Carrot River Valley, Prince Albert, and Saskatchewan Rivers.) • We are funding $2.9M to increase diagnostic health equipment in Saskatoon Health District (also applies to the Humboldt, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan Rivers, and Midwest areas.) • The town of St.
