1762 TARONGA WESTERN PLAINS ZOO - PLATYPUS CONSERVATION MR to move— That this House: (1) Commends the Government for its commitment to the preservation of the platypus by providing $8.8 million to Taronga Western Plains Zoo to build a refuge for this iconic native species.

(2) Recognises the work done by the Department of Regional NSW, in particular Murray Wood, in identifying the challenges faced by platypus due to drought and bushfires.

(3) Highlights the conservation work done by Taronga Western Plains Zoo, which is also getting $14 million from the Government to build a new wildlife hospital, which will be the biggest and best facility west of the Blue Mountains.

1764 FIXING LOCAL ROADS PROGRAM - ROUND TWO MR to move— That this House: (1) Congratulates the Government on accelerating the opening of Round Two of the Fixing Local Roads Program, which provides funding to local government councils to repair, maintain and seal local roads that matter to the local community.

(2) Notes Round Two of the program will see $136.4 million injected into shovel-ready projects starting in the 2020-21 financial year.

(3) Congratulates the Government on the $243.6 million already allocated to 253 projects across 83 local government areas under Round One.

1766 PUBLIC SECTOR WORKERS RECOGNITION MR to move— That this House: (1) Recognises public sector workers have been at the frontline of rolling disasters, from bushfires to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

1768 SWANSEA CHANNEL DREDGING MS to move— That this House: (1) Notes the Government has been forced to spend an extra $300,000 to prop up its failing ad hoc approach to dredging the Swansea Channel. (2) Notes in the past nine years, the Government has wasted more than $4 million on band-aid solutions that have not fixed the problem. (3) Notes year after year boats run aground in the shallows of Swansea Channel, and year after year the Government ignores the Member for Swansea's calls to provide a permanent solution. 1769 SUICIDE MONITORING SYSTEM MR MARK COURE to move— That this House: (1) Acknowledges the Government's introduction of a new suicide monitoring system, which will provide current data for health and support services about the number of suicide deaths across New South Wales.

1779 CORRECTIVE SERVICES NSW - DEFENCE COMMUNITY DOGS MR to move— That this House: (1) Notes the partnership between Corrective Services NSW and Defence Community Dogs which sees inmates at Bathurst Correctional Centre train Labradors to become assistance dogs for returned service men and women diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. (2) Notes the success of the program in providing vital support to veterans who are living with Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder as well as providing pro-social skills and vocational training to the inmates.

(3) Notes the recent graduation of Labradors, Brandy and Mocha, after ten months of specialised inmate led training are now fully qualified assistance dogs and have been formally handed over to their new owners.
