Summary 21 2 Scholarships and freeships play a pivotal role in the financially backward student’s academic career. The paucity of financial aid to pursue the professional courses can shatter the dreams of millions of young deserving students. Understanding this predicament undergone by large chunk of students especially in rural pockets of our country, President of our institution His Holiness Shri Vishwavallabha Thirtha Swamiji envisaged building the technical institution with the objective of rendering yeoman service of imparting quality technical education to the economically backward section of the student community. In order to meet this objective, our institution has been gifted with a large number of well-wishers and philanthropists who have been supporting the students by means of scholarships, in addition to the various scholarships being given by many government bodies. 3 • The process of how scholarship details are known to student and how it’s being delivered to the students are described as following. INSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARSHIP/FREESHIPS/AWARDS. 4 NOTIFICATION OF CIRCULAR. • The circular/information seeking application for the scholarship is being displayed / informed to all the students. • The information seeking special constraints are informed directly to students concerned (for instance, ARIHANTH CHARITABLE TRUST® offers Scholarship specific to a girl child from a financial weaker section) with the information available about financial status. Students are directly informed about the benefits and make them apply as per the scholarships’ requirements. • Most of the Government related scholarships are based on inputs, which students had already been submitted through admission process. The students are informed to cross check once again. 5 BANK DETAILS OF STUDENTS. • Due to Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) initiatives, Students are requested to provide their Bank Details for scholarship amount transfer. • In the scholarship data provided, one can see almost 300% jump in the scholarship schemes having DBT fund transferred to student’s account. • Most of the Non -Government schemes are also following the same path of DBT fund transfers. 6 INSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARSHIP/FREESHIPS/AWARDS. • With the responsibilities taken to uplift the rural students for their overall development, one can’t ignore their small financial assistance required. • With this aspect Institute’ Management places its record by • Directly assisting scholarship to the needy- INSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS(Through the SSVMET, Seers of Astha Mutt- Krishna Mutt Udupi). • Indirectly by making sure that right persons are approached and through them our students are assisted- VARIOUS CHARITY HOUSES / TRUST / PHILANTHROPISTS. • Excellence of a student has to be recognized.
