By Kathryn Valentini themselves, the two brothers brought their idea to Kyle Ebersold, the business Staff Writer manager of the Bottom Line. With all three enthused by the idea, discussions began and meetings were set up. Of course, you can’t have a hugely successful IF you were anywhere but Janikies Auditorium at 4PM this past Sunday, you event without a few bumps in the road, and you can be sure that Kyle and the were not in the right place. For the first time ever, all of Bryant’s best musical rest of the team ran into a few issues along the way. However, after months of groups were together performing on one stage. The Chamber Ensemble, Bottom dedication, persistence, hard work, long meetings, and lots of enthusiasm, this Line, Jazz Ensemble and The Bryant Singers came together to put on a show past weekend the first annual Spring Musical Showcase took place and went off that won’t soon be forgotten by those who went to see it. To kick off the event, without a hitch. Of course this event couldn’t have been possible without the President Machtley got up on stage to give a few introductory words, mentioning cooperation of all four musical ensembles and each of their members. Hopefully, how far the music program has come and developed over his time here as next year Bryant students will again have the opportunity to experience this President (did you know that when Prez got here – almost 17 years ago – the uniquely wonderful musical showcase. music program was basically non-existent?). Great job to everyone involved with this production! Each musical group then performed three each before all getting up on stage to perform an unforgettable finale together. Having been to numerous musical performances over the course of my three years here at Bryant, I can honestly say that this performance has been one of the most outstanding, “The best part at least for me was seeing it all impressive showcases of musical talent at Bryant. It was an hour and a half of compelling musical talent and fun entertainment all rolled into one. This cold weather definitely has every one feeling stressed and tired so you are not alone. Low energy affects concentration while interfering with academic and athletic performance. Inevitably, eating behaviors tend to take the brunt of the stress. Changes in your appetite may include cravings for simple carbohydrates (think comfort foods and sugary foods) along with the tendency to overeat or not eat at all. Either one will cause an alteration in your body’s performance. Now is the time to kick those good eating habits into gear with just a few reminders. 1. Think before you reach: Most often stress leads to mindless eating and usually your food choices are not the best. Before reaching, ask yourself “Am I Really Hungry?” If you have gone longer than three hours without eating; the answer is yes, you are most likely hungry.
