The most famous female cartoonist of Pakistan graduated from Punjab University; went on Fulbright scholarship in 2003 for professional enhancement to the University of Oregon, Sep- tember 2009, fellowship in Colorado College USA. She created the comic figure “Gogi” – a short-haired, self-confident and clever Pakistani woman – for national dailies such as Jang, Dawn, The News and The Muslim. All in all she authored seven comic books and illustrated eight books for different national and international organizations. Her cartoons can be seen since 2004 on many busses as well as in three hospitals (PIMS, CGH, DHQ) as murals. Furthermore, she exhibited solo in PNCA, Shakir Ali Museum Lahore, Karachi Arts Council, and Abbasin Arts Council Peshawar. Ms. Nazar also teaches in workshops and school programmes for both students and teachers; since two years she has been lecturing students at Harvard via video concourse. Nigar has been invited to be on the jury in Turkey, China, Algeria and to an exhibition in Germany. Two comic books for children authored by her won a first prize in two categories; her recent book published by Oxford University Press was nominated for Children Literature Award.
