The Golden Bears received 16 out of 20 !rst-place votes. Along with Cal, ARIZONA STATE, UCLA and WASHINGTON all sit in the top-10 in the rankings. Cal RS SR P/UTIL Valerie Arioto earned Pac-12 Player of the Week for the second week in a row while ASU SR P Hillary Bach earned the !rst Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week award of her career. Seven of the league’s teams head to the 35-team Cathedral City Classic while Utah heads to the UNC Greensboro Spartan Classic and ASU hosts Central Connecticut.     SOFTBALL ARIZONA STATE won its second national title in a 2-0 series sweep of SEC standout Florida in the Women’s College World Series championship. Sun Devil pitcher Dallas Escobedo, the Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year, was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Women’s College World Series. She became the !rst freshman to win the title-clinching game since UCLA’s Heather Compton did it in 1990. Arizona State becomes just the fourth team in NCAA Division I softball history to win multiple national titles, joining the likes of ARIZONA, UCLA and Texas A&M. Seven of eight Pac-10 squads made the NCAA postseason, ARIZONA, ARIZONA STATE, CALIFORNIA, OREGON, UCLA and WASHINGTON and six of those seven squads advanced to Super Regionals. Top-seeded Arizona State and California represented the Conference at the Women’s College World Series. In Conference play, the Sun Devils won their second Pac-10 title overall under the direction of Pac-10 Coach of the Year, Clint Myers. Stanford junior shortstop Ashley Hansen racked up the honors in 2011, as she was named USA Softball Player of the Year, Pac-10 Player of the Year and Pac-10 Batting Champion.
