PRODUCT DATA Binaural Recording Type 4965

Uses • Record binaural sound or two channels of audio for NVH development applications, such as confirming prototype/ design performance changes • Benchmark vehicles for reference or processing into simple PULSE™ NVH Simulator models • Capture vehicle behaviour during on-road evaluation or while using DTS On-Road Simulator • General purpose two-channel data recorder with replay • Cabin noise measurements

Features • Easy to use and compact design • Record two channels of sound • CCLD analog inputs • Multi-country power supply • Calibrator adaptor for Binaural

Fig. 1 Binaural Recording Headphones Type 4965 The headphones are optimal in combination with Sonoscout. The measured sound data can be played back to the headphones via Bluetooth®, which in the Sonoscout application makes the user device completely wire-independent from the measurement solution.

The headphones are also the ideal solution for obtaining data for use with PULSE™ NVH Vehicle Simulator Type 3644. Simultaneously record audio and vehicle performance data with Sonoscout and export NVH Vehicle Simulator models for processing.

TEDS The headphones incorporate TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet) . This means that the actual identity and loaded sensitivity of the left and right microphones is Description programmed into the TEDS memory, to make setup very easy. Binaural Recording Headphones Type 4965 are designed to work with Brüel & Kjær’s Sonoscout™ NVH Recorder, but they work as well with any CCLD conditioning.

The headphones are focused on NVH testing, and are used for applications where a person’s perception of sound is important to understand. As the headphones are positioned next to the test person’s ears, they give the driver/passenger a perfect impression of the vehicle experience. Transport Case Fig. 2 Contents of Type 4965’s transport case The entire Binaural Recording Headphone kit is contained in a rugged transport case, see Fig. 2, and the main components are compact enough to be carried in a coat pocket.

The kit contains an adaptor that allows the microphones to be calibrated with Sound Calibrator Type 4231.
