Anotace Diplomová práce „Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl, Translation and Analysis“ se věnuje překladu a následnému rozboru překladu. Práce je dozdělena do dvou částí. Praktická část obsahuje můj překlad díla a teoretická část se věnuje postupu při překládání a případným obtížím. Annotation Diploma thesis Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl, Translation and Analysis deals with the translation and subsequent analysis of the translation. The thesis is devided into two parts. The practical part consists of my translation of the work and the theoretical part covers and discusses the process of translation and possible difficulties that occurred. concerned, I have chosen translation. Before presenting my work, I would like to explain in a few words what and why made me choose the particular translation. It has always been the object of my interest whether translating from English into Czech or vice versa. I am a student of the Faculty of Education, where translating is not being dealt much in detail, nevertheless, throughout the transation courses which I have taken, the concern in this field has rapidly increased. The topic of my Bachelor thesis was translation of one chapter of The Hobbit by J.R.R.Tolkien and having to decide about the Diploma thesis, I could not think of anything else but translation. After some time of thorough consideration and consultation with the supervisor of my Diploma thesis, the result of deliberation was such that I have chosen to devote my time and effort to Monty Python and their filmed sequel of sketches with the title Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl. In my opinion, the final thesis ought to be, to a certain degree, connected with the study programme. According to the fact that some of the teaching techniques benefit from translating and translations, for example, grammar-translation method, suggestopaedia, lexical approach, etc., I dare say that doing a translation with analysis as a thesis be completely in place. The aim of the thesis is to present a new translation of Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl in the practical part and manifest it via analysis in the theoretical part. I hope I will be able to deal both with the practical and the
