Singer-Songwriter Ray Lamontagne Comes to MSU Riley Center on November 6

MERIDIAN, MS – Singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne brings his Just Passing Through Tour that is folksy, bluesy, always intimate music to the MSU Riley Center on Tuesday, November 6, at 7:30 p.m. along with Special Guests The Secret Sisters.

LaMontagne’s new album, “Part of the Light,” returns to the acoustic-guitar sound and emotionally direct lyrics that made him a star – in his own low-key way – with such hits as “Beg Steal or Borrow” and “.” The electric guitars and mystical poetry of his previous album, “Ouroboros,” give way to the quiet intensity of “Such a Simple Thing,” the new album’s first single release.

“I really have a lot of respect for music, the art form of music,” LaMontagne told magazine. “It’s my whole life. I don’t care about any of that other stuff.” So he stands quietly onstage, not saying much between songs, and pours all of his energy into his singing.

“From the moment LaMontagne began to sing until his very last note,” wrote reviewer Hillary Gordon about a concert in Santa Barbara, California, “the audience was held captive by his voice. Sometimes soft and delicate, other times snarly and full of rasp, LaMontagne’s voice was as powerful an instrument as any of the acoustic guitars surrounding him.”

The MSU Riley Center’s elegant decor and impeccable acoustics provide the perfect setting for that voice. Get your tickets now for what promises to be a powerful concert experience.
